Parents report very positively on the quality of the club. They feel that their children enjoy their time at the club and that staff are friendly and approachable. The friendly and enthusiastic interactions between staff and children help them form secure attachments quickly and children demonstrate they feel safe and confident in the care of staff. Children's behaviour is good as staff are good role models. Staff are deployed well and provide clear guidance for children about what is acceptable behaviour. Children enjoy their time at the club and are very happy and relaxed. They choose from a varied range of activities and experiences on offer to them in the club. Children play well together and make friendships across the age groups. Older children demonstrate caring attitudes towards younger children and are positive role models.

Inspection activities
The inspector had discussions with the manager, staff and children at appropriate times during the inspection. The inspector observed a number of children's activities throughout the inspection. The inspector sampled some of the documentation available, including evidence of suitability of staff and safeguarding information. The inspector gathered the views from parents available to speak to her. The inspector reviewed the provider's self-evaluation form.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good
Safeguarding is effective. Staff implement the policies and procedures well and conduct thorough risk assessments, prioritising children's safety in all areas, both inside and outside. They monitor children's safety extremely well and use clear explanations to help ensure that children learn to understand potential hazards. The manager works closely with staff to promote their professional development effectively. They strive to improve their knowledge through accessing relevant training. Parents comment on the very good care the staff provide and the good communication between the club and parents. Staff foster good links with the host school and information is shared well to ensure continuity of care.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
Children arrive happily and enjoy their time at the club. Staff introduce some planned activities to offer variety, including arts and crafts. Children have daily opportunities to be active indoors and outdoors. Outside, they enjoy playing group games, such as football. They work together and celebrate as a team when they score a goal. Children enjoy socialising with other children. They develop positive relationships with everyone at the club and settle well. Children express their views and say they like coming to the club. They enjoy the activities and playing with friends. Staff are friendly and join in when needed while allowing children to lead their own play. Children in the early years age group are well supported by staff. They relax or are active, according to their needs. Throughout the session, children engage in conversation with the staff, using and developing their communication skills effectively. Staff play alongside children and chat to

them about activities they have enjoyed at school and about significant events in their lives, for example, recent birthday celebrations. As a result, staff know each child well.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good
Children relate well to staff who have a clear understanding of their individual care needs. Staff members are well deployed to provide good levels of supervision for all children to keep them safe. Children quickly settle into the routines of the club. They behave well, are polite and respect the rules of the setting because staff make these clear. Staff value children's views and opinions, which builds their confidence and self-respect. During mealtime, children sit together chatting to each other and to staff. Children are encouraged to follow good hygiene routines. They have a good understanding of keeping healthy and safe and respond well to staff's expectations of appropriate behaviour. Staff understand the need to protect children and ensure they play in a safe and secure environment.
