Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is outstanding

The nursery provides an extensive range of exciting and interesting resources to promote children's learning. Staff nurture children's interests, providing them with extensive opportunities to develop their skills. Younger children explore textures, including flour and rice, in which they make marks, while older children chalk out roads for their cars. Children persist at their tasks for a sustained length of time and demonstrate great pride in their achievements.

Staff greet children warmly on arrival and provide highly nurturing care. Staff promote children's lifestyles extremely well. Children talk about healthy food choices and learn to use knives safely as they cut up fruit. All children have wonderful opportunities for outdoor play throughout the day. For example, they excitedly wash their cars, and mix up potions in the mud kitchen, using an extensive range of resources. Staff foster children's emotional well-being very well. They encourage children to make independent choices and decisions at every opportunity.

p.3

Outcomes for children are outstanding

Children make excellent progress from their starting points. They develop amazing imaginations, clearly evident as they engage in the wide range of activities and welcome staff into their play. Children show a positive attitude to learning. They are very confident in their interactions with staff and form excellent friendships with their peers. Children rapidly develop the skills which will prepare them extremely well for their move to school.
