This provision is good
The childminder has not ensured that a Disclosure and Barring Service check is completed for every person in her household who is aged 16 and above in a timely manner. The arrangements for sharing information with parents are not consistent enough to enable them to better support children's learning at home.
p.1
It is not yet outstanding because:
The childminder is well qualified and, together with her assistant, successfully provides learning that challenges and motivates children at all times. The childminder and her assistant support children's emotional development, contributing to them being confident and settled in their care. Children learn skills that help them move towards their next stage in learning. All children are making good progress.

Inspection activities
The inspector observed the quality of teaching during activities and assessed the impact this has on children's learning. The inspector completed a joint observation with the childminder and her assistant. The inspector held discussions with the childminder and her assistant. She looked at relevant documentation and evidence of the suitability of assistants working in the setting. The inspector spoke to children during the inspection and looked at feedback from parents, taking account of their views.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good
The arrangements for safeguarding are effective. The childminder has reasonable knowledge and understanding of how to promote children's health and welfare. She follows procedures that ensure risks are reduced in areas where children play. The childminder can explain the reporting procedures to follow should they have a child protection concern for a child. However, she has not ensured that appropriate suitability checks have been completed for her children in a timely way, once they have turned 16 years old. The childminder monitors the work of her assistants to ensure their practice promotes children's learning. The childminder makes contact with other settings where children attend to share information. However, she does not share information with parents to enable them to extend their children's learning at home.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
The childminder understands and values the importance of child development. This helps her to recognise gaps in children's learning, and plan activities to support all areas of development. Both the childminder and her assistant interact well with children. They consistently challenge children and this contributes to them being engaged in play and learning at all times. For example, children are supported to explore together during sensory play. They learn about good hygiene routines, whilst problem solving together. The childminder and her assistant talk with children frequently, teaching them new words and helping to extend their growing communication skills. Children learn about diversity in the wider community. This contributes to them valuing the differences and similarities of others. Children have the opportunity to express their thoughts and ideas while being creative.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good
The childminder and her assistant are positive role models. They praise children as they achieve. This contributes to children behaving and being motivated to learn. Children have formed bonds with the childminder and her assistant. Additionally, settling-in procedures are effective and this helps children to settle well when they first arrive at the setting. Children have access to a secure outdoor area and enjoy opportunities for daily exercise. This contributes to children being able to practise physical skills and promotes their large- muscle development. Children are becoming independent learners. They tidy their toys away and wash their hands before sitting together to eat healthy meals.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
Children are supported to learn skills in preparation for their next stage of learning and their eventual move on to school. All children make good progress from their starting points.
