children and young people since the most recent full inspection
Young people make good progress in all areas of their lives because they are effectively supported by a staff team who have a clear understanding of their individual needs. Young people continue to make successful educational progress at school and college. Some successfully find part time and then permanent employment. They participate in activities and community based clubs. They develop positive relationships with staff and peers in the wider community. They make informed decisions about their future lives.
p.2
children and young people since the most recent full inspection
Young people successfully move on into adulthood. They are well supported by staff who work in partnership with the new placement to ensure a smooth transition. Staff maintain relationships to ensure they continue to feel supported and that the move remains positive.
p.2
children and young people since the most recent full inspection
Young people learn to keep themselves safe, accept responsibility for themselves and understand the effect of their actions on others. Staff take their educational role seriously. For example, incidents of physical interventions have significantly reduced. However, when serious incidents occur, issues continue to be addressed. The staff use encouragement and positive relationships to facilitate positive behaviour and reductions in high risk behaviours. Staff engage young people at risk and support them to accept boundaries and guidance to keep themselves safe. This successfully prevents most issues escalating.
p.2
children and young people since the most recent full inspection
This work is strengthened by effective partnership work with other agencies which provide specialist advice, guidance and support. For example, the local police visit regularly to provide advice, support and build up relationships with the young people and help with their understanding of consequences.

children and young people since the most recent full inspection
The Registered Manager and staff team are clear about their roles and responsibilities. The level of delegation and lines of accountability are clearly defined and understood. All safeguarding and practice issues are appropriate referred and robustly investigated. This ensures practice is challenged and good quality of care is maintained. The Registered Manager has a robust range of systems in place to ensure on-going monitoring occurs and that these systems inform improvement and development. Strengths and potential shortfalls of the service are clearly understood. This information is used to plan the home’s future development and to help maintain the good standards already achieved. The previous requirement and recommendation set at the last inspection have been met.

Information about this inspection
Inspectors have looked closely at the experiences and progress of children and young people living in the children's home. Inspectors considered the quality of work and the difference adults make to the lives of children and young people. They read case files, watched how professional staff work with children, young people and each other and discussed the effectiveness of help and care given to children and young people. Wherever possible, they talked to children, young people and their families. In addition the inspectors have tried to understand what the children's home knows about how well it is performing, how well it is doing and what difference it is making for the children and young people who it is trying to help, protect and look after. This inspection focused on the effectiveness of the home and the progress and experiences of children and young people since the most recent full inspection.
