The managers of the nursery are very well qualified and use their expertise to provide inspiring leadership. They research new initiatives and attend regular training courses to constantly bring fresh ideas into the setting. Experienced staff act as mentors to more junior staff to ensure all of them are fully supported to meet the high expectations of practice. Regular staff meetings provide opportunities for staff to review and share their successful teaching methods with each other. The managers and staff develop effective partnerships with parents and other professionals. Children are given tailored support to help them reach their full potential. Arrangements for safeguarding are effective. Children's welfare is actively promoted. Staff have a thorough understanding of local safeguarding procedures. Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is outstanding

A key strength of the nursery is the thoughtful staff deployment which results in them working with specific age ranges according to their childcare experience and expertise. All staff skilfully watch and listen to children as they are absorbed in their play. High-quality observations and assessments are used to inform planning. Any gaps in learning are quickly identified and addressed. Parents are kept informed of children's progress and provided with plenty of ideas to extend their learning at home. However, the managers have identified that there is scope to engage parents more deeply in their children's learning. Children experience a precise balance of adult-led and child-led activities, ensuring they are always engaged and challenged. Children enjoy using natural resources in their play, developing an excellent understanding of the world. For example, very young children enjoy exploring and rolling lemons and pine cones across the floor. They
