This provision is good
Children are kept safe through good procedures. The childminder has updated her safeguarding training and developed links with other professionals to enable her to improve her service. The childminder makes good use of risk assessments for indoor activities, trips to school and for outings to ensure children are supervised well. The childminder uses observations and assessments effectively to identify what children can do and to plan for their next stage of learning. This helps children make progress and prepares them well for school. Children benefit from using a good range of accessible toys and resources to suit their age and abilities. These capture their interest and helps them learn. Teaching is effective. The childminder plans activities for the different ages of children attending and this fully supports their developing creativity and their social skills.

The inspector spoke to the childminder about her recent training in safeguarding and the impact on children's safety. The inspector looked at children's developmental records to check their progress The inspector looked at a range of documentation including those relating to attendance, accident records and risk assessments. The inspector looked at written feedback from parents and took account of their views.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good
Safeguarding is effective. Since the last inspection the childminder has attended training in safeguarding and developed her understanding of how to keep children safe. Children now walk to school and all outings are assessed for risks to ensure children are safe. This supports children's welfare. The childminder has developed her knowledge and skills though training. She has forged links with other professionals such as local childminders and the local authority early years advisor to further enhance her skills. The childminder has a good understanding of the requirements of the Early Years Foundation stage and other government requirements. Information is shared with parents and the childminder values their feedback. She makes changes to suit the needs of individual families. She is well qualified for her role and plans for improvements to the care and education she provides.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
The childminder carefully tracks each child's progress and plans for their individual learning needs. For example, she fosters children's love of books and stories. This helps them learn new words and promotes their early language skills. There are fewer opportunities for children to learn about early mathematics. Older children are encouraged to develop their creative skills through art activities such as painting and making jigsaw puzzles that children choose for themselves. Younger children become involved in the older children's activities such as making key rings for Mother's Day. A good range of accessible resources are available to children in the play room. Freely chosen activities help children to develop their own interests and make good progress. The childminder carefully assesses her provision to make sure all areas of learning are available. She plans to introduce a wider range of activities for children to learn about technology and take

children on more educational outings. Children enjoy a range of challenging activities to help them progress.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good
The childminder protects children well by good use of risk assessments. She meets the children's needs well. Children are safe and feel safe in her care. Children walk to school and this helps them to be healthy and learn about what happens to our bodies when we are active. Children learn to behave well. They make posters of rules such as not to bully others. Children are involved in choosing meals by making menu cards of their favourite foods. Children enjoy cooking activities such as making home-made pizza. Children of all ages develop close and affectionate relationships with the childminder. This helps them feel secure. Older children of siblings are given plenty of space to play and relax helping them to enjoy their time in the childminders home.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
Children are making progress because the childminder successfully teaches skills to help them prepare for their next stage of learning and for school. The childminder provides sensitive support for children who need extra help to allow them to catch up with others. This means that all children are making good progress from their starting points.
