The childminder gives lots of praise and encouragement to children to help them develop good levels of self-esteem and confidence. Partnerships with parents and other early years settings are strong. The childminder shares regular information about children's care, interests and development, to provide continuity in children's learning. The childminder reflects on the quality of her service and practice well. She uses children's and parents' views to make improvements to her setting and maintain positive outcomes for children.
p.1
It is not yet outstanding because:
The childminder does not always make the best of all opportunities to extend children's counting and number recognition skills, to fully encourage their mathematical abilities. Sometimes, the childminder does not fully use all opportunities to enhance children's understanding of different people and their roles, to extend their understanding of the world around them.
