This provision is good
The managers monitor learning well. They identify children that need additional support quickly and work closely with parents and outside agencies to support them. They use additional funding effectively. All children make good progress and any gaps in learning close rapidly. Self-evaluation is effective. The managers use the views of children, parents, staff and outside agencies to help make improvements to the pre-school. They make changes quickly and monitor them to ensure that they lead to improvements in children's learning and development. There is an effective key-person system. Staff work closely with parents and other settings children attend, and involve them in children's learning. Staff share children's next steps and ways in which parents can support their children at home. Children benefit from this continuity in their learning and are confident learners.
p.1
It is not yet outstanding because:
Staff do not always support more able children to think for themselves and solve problems as they arise, to fully extend their learning. The managers and staff track the progress of children well and assessment is good. However, they do not always make sharply focused assessments when children first attend so they can support their progression fully from the outset.

What the setting needs to do to improve further
To further improve the quality of the early years provision the provider should:

Inspection activities
The inspector observed the children taking part in a variety of indoor and outdoor activities. The inspector talked with children and staff and observed them interacting. The inspector interviewed the managers and nominated person. The inspector sampled documentation relating to children's progress and safeguarding. The inspector talked with parents and took into account their views.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good
The managers monitor staff practice well. They conduct regular observations of staff and support them in identifying ways to improve the quality of their teaching promptly. For example, staff used training well to gain confidence in managing children's behaviour in large group situations. Safeguarding is effective. The managers understand the safeguarding requirements and ensure that everyone knows what to do to keep children safe. They follow robust recruitment procedures for all new staff and continue to monitor their ongoing suitability to work with children.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
Clear improvements since the previous inspection mean that children achieve well. Children enjoy a wide range of activities and resources that help prepare them for their next stage of learning, including starting school. For example, children learn about the world around them and different cultures from visitors and visits to working farms. Overall, staff complete and share regular and precise assessments of children's learning. They use children's interests to plan activities that engage and motivate them to learn. Children have plenty of opportunities to develop their imaginations through role play, such as using the mud kitchen when organising a pretend party. The managers and staff support children's move to school well and ensure continuity. For example, they invite Reception Year teachers to the pre-school to work with the children and share their next steps in learning.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good
Children learn respect for others. For example, they say 'thank you' to adults when helped and know that it is kind to take turns and share. Children manage minor disputes with their friends independently through discussions and taking turns. Staff promote children's good health positively. This includes through daily access to the outdoors and physical play, and learning about healthy foods through games and at snack and lunchtime. Staff follow robust procedures to keep children safe and develop their understanding of how to assess dangers and manage risk for themselves.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
Children successfully develop their early literacy skills. This includes learning to write numbers and recognising the letters in their name. Children are independent and manage tasks for themselves. For instance, they enjoy learning to clean the pre-school floor with brushes and helping to prepare for snack.
