This provision is outstanding
Children play in an extremely engaged and very purposeful way. They are settled and confident, and behave really well. Children make fantastic progress because the quality of teaching is consistently outstanding. Staff use assessment really well to ensure that children take positive steps forward in their development across all areas of learning. They track children's progress and target any gaps in development quickly. Planning is in direct response to children's play and reflects children's care and learning needs accurately. Staff draw on their excellent qualifications and wealth of experience. They use this to develop very positive strategies to support those children learning English as an additional language. Staff work with parents exceptionally well, to provide a consistent and very effective approach to children's care and learning. This promotes children's emotional well-being highly successfully.
p.1
This provision is outstanding
The management team expertly reflects on and evaluates the quality of the provision. It identifies staff training needs through highly effective systems of supervision to benefit children. For example, as a result of training, staff observe, wait and listen before extending children's play with skilful questioning, to ensure they are in tune with children's thought patterns and learning.

Inspection activities
The inspector spoke with children and parents and considered their views. The inspector sampled a range of documentation, including policies and children's learning records. The inspector conducted a leadership and management discussion. The inspector observed staff's interactions with children. The inspector conducted a joint observation with the lead teacher.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is outstanding
Safeguarding is effective. The management team and staff have an excellent understanding of safeguarding procedures and child protection issues. This successfully promotes children's safety and welfare. The management team evaluates the quality of the provision accurately, and is dedicated to improve outcomes for children further. For example, the staff and management have developed very strong relationships with other professionals, which have a very positive impact on children's experiences. Children are very well prepared for their move on to nursery because, for example, partnerships with other settings are very strong and effective. The management team and staff have quickly and effectively developed an ambitious culture that drives improvement forward.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is outstanding
Children have lots of opportunities to consolidate their learning and practise new skills. For example, very young children learn to use scissors and enjoy filling vessels with snips of paper. Staff provide very engaging opportunities that extend children's learning. For example, children experiment with a range of tubes and objects. They enjoy testing their ideas, finding out about speed and direction, and are very well supported by staff as they play. Children are mesmerised by stories and use very well-developed listening skills that support their future learning. However, staff do not make full use of opportunities to celebrate children's creative achievements.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are outstanding
Children are completely absorbed in their play and their behaviour is excellent. For example, children spend ages transporting sand using a variety of different-sized buckets and containers. They thoroughly enjoy the physicality of the activity and get lots of fresh air and exercise. Staff promote children's emotional well-being extremely well. For example, children benefit from the exceptionally well-resourced 'home bases' that feel like a sitting room in a home. Children build very firm emotional attachments with their special key-person and this gives them an excellent platform from which to make progress. This is particularly effective for children with additional needs. Staff and management have developed a very real understanding of the local community, to help build very effective partnerships with parents.
p.3
Outcomes for children are outstanding
Children experience challenge and excitement, and are eager to learn and take part. They continually make discoveries and play with impressive and increasing levels of independence and autonomy. They are confident and well settled. Children share space and resources, and get on really well with each other, playing in a kind and considerate way. They develop positive attitudes in preparation for their next stage in education.
