p.2

Effectiveness of the leadership and management is outstanding

Alongside her co-childminder and assistant, she completes highly detailed and thorough risk assessments, so that children are safe and secure. The childminder is highly skilled in using the knowledge she gains on training to improve her teaching skills. She evaluates her provision extremely well and acts on parents' views. She supports her co- childminder and assistant to deliver outstanding care and education to children. She has achieved a qualification at level 3 since her last inspection and uses the skills gained to produce highly effective learning experiences for children.

p.3

Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is outstanding

The childminder has very high expectations of children, including disabled children and those with special educational needs. She is very responsive to children's needs and highly skilled at adapting activities to encourage non-verbal children to communicate during play. For example, children skilfully linked toy animals to matching pictures in the book that they enjoyed sharing with the childminder. Children enjoy exceptional opportunities to learn outside. For example, the childminder provides an abundance of interesting, stimulating activities and resources to develop their interests. She skilfully interacts and continually encourages children to share their thoughts, ideas and feelings.

p.3

Personal development, behaviour and welfare are outstanding

The childminder is an excellent role-model. She is highly respectful towards the children and her colleagues. She creates a positive and exceptionally welcoming environment where children want to learn. The childminder helps the children to gain an in-depth knowledge about the wider world. For example, children thoroughly enjoy playing and learning in the extremely well-resourced, inspiring playroom where they explore an excellent range of multi-cultural resources. The childminder uses highly imaginative ways to help children adopt healthy lifestyles. For example, children respond extremely well as they play with a doll while trying new foods, to eat healthily. They understand safety rules, although they have slightly fewer opportunities to manage risks for themselves as they explore the environment.

p.3

Outcomes for children are outstanding

All children behave exceptionally well. They relish climbing and balancing, operating cameras and binoculars, and comparing sizes and shapes. They thoroughly enjoy exploring sand, and weighing and measuring with different tools. Children enjoy role play in the play house and show that they are extremely proud of the plants they have grown.
