This provision is outstanding
The childminder gains extremely concise information from parents when children first start to help her plan meticulously for children's individual needs, abilities and interests. She reviews the information weekly and produces a summary of their progress from her assessments. Children make consistently high rates of progress from their starting points. Children settle exceptionally well in the childminder's care. They are extremely confident and thoroughly enjoy their learning. The childminder is excellent at supporting children's communication and language skills, particularly those with English as an additional language. She uses a range of highly effective methods to promote their speech, such as using key words in home languages and sign language. The childminder works highly efficiently with her co-childminders. For example, they have daily discussions regarding children's progress to promote an exceptionally

consistent approach. This helps all children make rapid progress. The childminder is highly impressive as she carefully identifies training to support children's specific needs. She continually reflects on how she can improve her outstanding knowledge and skills to help promote exceptionally positive outcomes for children. For example, she is completing a relevant degree.

Inspection activities
The inspector observed the quality of teaching and the impact this has on children's learning and development. The inspector viewed all areas of the premises used for childminding. The inspector viewed a range of documentation, including suitability checks and children's progress records. The inspector held discussions with the childminder and her co-childminders at appropriate times throughout the inspection.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is outstanding
Safeguarding is effective. The childminder is exceptionally confident about child protection and the processes to follow if she has concerns. She keeps her excellent safeguarding knowledge up to date and reflects this efficiently throughout her practice. The childminder sets herself precise targets for improvement that help her maintain the high-quality practice. For example, together with her co-childminders, she methodically completes evaluations of activities and practices to plan how they can improve. Parents comment that they are 'incredibly happy' and the childminder provides 'outstanding care'.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is outstanding
The childminder's knowledge of how to promote children's individual learning and development is outstanding. She uses her rigorous observations and assessments to monitor children's progress accurately and swiftly addresses any development gaps. The childminder provides excellent opportunities for parents to be involved in their children's learning. For example, there are in-depth discussions and termly parent questionnaires, to help her understand completely what children learn at home. The childminder is highly effective as she encourages young children's early writing and language skills. For example, she values and talks to them about the marks they make and skilfully builds on their vocabulary. She instinctively recognises when children's engagement is waning. For example, she follows their lead in play to make the best possible use of their interests. This helps keep them highly motivated and eager to learn.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are outstanding
The childminder is highly competent and sensitive in helping children form secure emotional attachments. Children develop an excellent understanding of healthy lifestyles. For instance, children learn about the importance of eating the vegetables that they have grown. She is highly effective in teaching children how to keep themselves safe. For example, they consistently practise road safety on outings and the childminder uses role- play activities to reinforce their understanding, such as using the toy cars. The childminder provides extensive opportunities for children to learn about the world around them. For example, they attend a wide variety of events in the community and visit local historical sites. However, she recognises that she does not always take every opportunity to make the best use of children's backgrounds as she teaches them about diversity.
p.3
Outcomes for children are outstanding
Children make excellent progress from their starting points and any gaps in development are rapidly closing. They behave exceptionally well. Children interact and socialise with others extremely positively. They are highly prepared for their next stage in learning and the move to school or nursery.
