This provision is good
The childminder keeps up to date with changes in early years practice and adapts her service in response to these. She evaluates effectively what is working well in it and what she can improve. Since the last inspection, the childminder consistently seeks new ways to strengthen partnership work with parents to promote continuity in the children's learning. For example, she now shares daily information about children's activities. The childminder interacts well with the children and she successfully keeps them motivated. Children develop a positive approach to learning and they are progressing well with their development. Children consistently behave well. The childminder models good behaviour and focuses on children's positive actions. She offers lots of praise and attention. Children are cared for in a welcoming, stimulating and safe environment. The childminder effectively teaches children how to play safely and how to keep themselves
p.1
It is not yet outstanding because:
The childminder does not do all possible to promote the progress of those children who prefer learning outdoors. The childminder does not always find ways to extend children's curiosity and to enhance their learning experiences.

Inspection activities
The inspector sampled a range of documentation, including the childminder's training certificates, insurance policy, records of attendance, risk assessments and safeguarding policy. The inspector held discussions with the childminder about her daily teaching and care practices. The inspector completed a joint observation with the childminder, and observed the quality of care, teaching and children's learning. The inspector looked at the areas, toys and equipment used for childminding purposes.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good
Safeguarding is effective. The childminder has a strong focus on keeping her child protection training up to date. She has a good knowledge of how to keep children safe and how to report any concerns that she have about a child's well-being. The childminder regularly assesses and monitors children's progression. She shares regular information with parents and she encourages them to be active in their children's learning at home. The childminder has effective procedures to keep improving the provision and the children's outcomes. She makes good use of her self-evaluation methods and pays good attention to her professional development. For example, she joins the local childminding group and undertakes regular training to develop her teaching skills.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
The childminder knows the children well. She provides interesting activities that stimulate children and keep them purposefully engaged. For example, children develop their creative and coordination skills when they enjoy using glue to stick materials together. The childminder gives children ample time to explore and to develop their own ideas. She skilfully uses the children's play and everyday experiences to develop their early mathematical skills. She effectively supports children's communication and language development. For example, she repeats single words and phrases clearly, and uses body language to support young children's understanding. They sing nursery rhymes spontaneously and enjoy doing the actions to these.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good
Children develop secure emotional attachments with the childminder and are very confident. For example, they play happily and willingly share their interests. Children are very sociable and are encouraged to respect others. Children have daily fresh air and exercise, such as when they visit the local parks. Children develop their independence well and they confidently seek help when they need it. Children display a sense of belonging and have good self-esteem. For example, they smile to acknowledge the childminder's praise and encouragement. They show an early sense of responsibility when they help with tidying up the toys. Children learn about healthy lifestyles effectively and consistently practise good hygiene routines. They eat healthy food and wash their hands at appropriate times.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
