Effectiveness of the leadership and management is outstanding

The childminder has exceptionally high expectations of herself and the children in her care. She is dedicated to providing the very best learning opportunities, both indoors and out, to motivate children and prepare them extremely well for the next stage in their learning. Highly successful procedures are in place to help reflect on her provision and monitor children's progress. Any areas for improvement are quickly addressed to constantly improve outcomes for children. The childminder supports her co-childminder exceptionally well to ensure high quality support for children's care and learning needs. Safeguarding is effective. The childminder has a confident understanding of the signs that may give her cause for concern. She knows the exact procedures to follow to ensure prompt action is taken to keep children safe as she updates her knowledge regularly.

p.3

Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is outstanding

The childminder is exceptionally aware of children's learning styles, interests and preferences and is quick to adapt activities to provide the very best support for each child. For example, during a painting activity, children used their hands and a wide range of tools confidently to explore and experiment. They discussed pattern, shape, colour and texture with great excitement and pride. Exceptionally strong links with parents help to extend children's learning further. For example, the childminder provides details of the songs and rhymes children sing, so parents can join in with them at home, further extending children's language and communication skills. The childminder utilises skills she gains through training to further enhance outcomes for children. For example, children's mathematical awareness is extended by comparing number, capacity and measure as they make their own musical shakers.

p.3

Personal development, behaviour and welfare are outstanding

Children are exceptionally confident and proud of their achievements. They are extremely happy and settled and develop a highly respectful awareness of diversity through their play and activities. However, the childminder very occasionally misses opportunities to extend children's awareness of their place in their own family. The play environment is extremely welcoming, accessible, safe and secure. Children explore with excitement and laughter. Children's health and well-being are supported exceptionally well through highly effective routines and procedures. The childminder provides nutritious meals and reminds children how to keep themselves healthy through what they drink, eat and do.

p.3

Outcomes for children are outstanding

Children are highly motivated, extremely keen to learn and make outstanding progress in all areas of learning. The childminder is exceptionally enthusiastic, which is reflected in children's positive approach to learning.
