This provision is good
Staff establish very positive relationships with children. Children gain good self-esteem, emotional well-being and respond well to staff's warm and caring approach. Children play in a welcoming and stimulating environment. They are eager to take part and are confident and independent learners. Staff are vigilant and take every precaution to protect children from harm. The safety of children is given high priority and staff make sure effective action is taken to keep children safe. The manager and staff regularly reflect on the strengths and weaknesses of their practice. They regularly consult parents and use their opinions to bring about regular improvements. This has a positive impact on children's well-being and development. Staff have a good understanding of how to promote children's well-being. They encourage children's good health by providing nutritious snacks and offer frequent outdoor play to support children's good physical development.

Inspection activities
The inspector looked at relevant documentation, such as the nursery's self-evaluation and evidence of the suitability of staff working in the nursery. The inspector spoke to some of the parents during the inspection and took account of their views. The inspector observed the quality of teaching during activities indoors and outdoors, and assessed the impact this has on children's learning. The inspector completed a joint observation with one of the owners of the nursery. The inspector held a meeting with both owners of the nursery and looked at relevant documentation, such as the nursery's self-evaluation and evidence of the suitability of staff working in the nursery.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good
The arrangements for safeguarding are effective. Staff have a secure understanding of their roles and responsibilities in keeping children safe from harm and have completed safeguarding training. Regular risk assessments are completed to ensure the environment is safe and secure. Staff are well qualified and regularly access training to help develop their professional skills. Regular supervisions, appraisals and training promote consistent practice and maintain the quality of staff's skills and knowledge. This has a positive impact on children's learning experiences. The providers and staff reflect regularly on the quality of activities. They identify areas for improvement and set clear targets for continuous development. Well-established partnerships with parents, local schools and other professionals are in place, promoting consistency in children's care and education. Parents are highly complimentary about the learning opportunities their children receive.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
Teaching is good. Staff regularly observe children and carefully monitor their progress so that any gaps in a child's learning and development are swiftly identified. They use assessment information to plan activities that engage children and support the next steps in their learning. Children achieve well. They enjoy story time, listen attentively and share what they know. For example, they recognise that books have an author and illustrator. Children explore freely with sand and dough. They develop their creative skills as they play in the 'witches' kitchen' using glitter and dough, and create unusual shapes and designs. Early reading skills are developing well, with many of the children able to recognise their own names. Parents share information about their children and contribute fully to their child's initial assessment. They receive regular information about their children's learning, and are highly complimentary about the progress their children are making.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good
Staff have good relationships with the children and are attentive to their individual needs. Children behave well and develop a strong sense of belonging. Staff help children settle through their calm demeanour, which results in children developing strong emotional attachments. Staff encourage children to consider each other's needs and to share. They offer praise regularly so that children gain confidence and good self-esteem. Children gain independence during snack time and when putting on their coats before they play outdoors. Children of all ages benefit from the frequent opportunities to play outdoors where they explore the natural environment and extend their physical skills.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
All children, including those who are in receipt of funding, make good progress in their learning. Children are well prepared for the next stage in their learning and development and the eventual move on to school.
