children and young people since the most recent full inspection
Young people’s excellent progress, experience and outcomes remain steady since the last inspection. This is supported by a stable and experienced staff team who provide consistency for them to settle, feel safe and develop. School attendance and achievement for the majority of young people is excellent. For example, they are taking examinations a year early and engaging with private tutors to further their success. Moreover, the staff are working very hard with partner agencies to secure a suitable school placement for young people recently excluded from school.

children and young people since the most recent full inspection
Young people live in a healthy environment where their physical, emotional and social wellbeing is promoted. They engage in a range of activities and hobbies such as; gymnasium, walking, cinema, meals out, overnight stays with their friends, go karting, theatre and London City breaks, which they enjoy immensely. They have easy access to health care services to meet their individual needs, including regular therapy to help with their emotional health.

children and young people since the most recent full inspection
Young people views are very much a part of daily living and the staff value and support this. Ideas are followed through, for example, new bedroom furniture, decoration, activities, likes and dislikes. Their say is central to the running of the home and shows the staff and manager’s commitment in ensuring they have a happy fulfilling life here. They do highlight that they would like an increase in pocket money and this is currently being raised with higher management for consideration.
p.2
children and young people since the most recent full inspection
There are two young people who have moved to the home since the last inspection. Risk assessments, care planning documents and introductory visits are complete and demonstrate the appropriateness of the placement. These young people are settling very well and their behaviour and safety has much improved since living here. They report that they are very happy living here and that the staff care about them.
p.2
children and young people since the most recent full inspection
Monitoring processes are effective in ensuring high quality, professional care practice. Quarterly reports demonstrate an excellent overview of young people’s progress and areas for development in the future. Furthermore, team away days take place to focus on areas for improvement. These all contribute to developing the service for the benefit of young people. The one recommendation from the previous inspection has been addressed and risk assessments are now detailed and reflect care practice.

Information about this inspection
Inspectors have looked closely at the experiences and progress of children and young people living in the children's home. Inspectors considered the quality of work and the difference adults make to the lives of children and young people. They read case files, watched how professional staff work with children, young people and each other and discussed the effectiveness of help and care given to children and young people. Wherever possible, they talked to children, young people and their families. In addition the inspectors have tried to understand what the children's home knows about how well it is performing, how well it is doing and what difference it is making for the children and young people who it is trying to help, protect and look after. This inspection focused on the effectiveness of the home and the progress and experiences of children and young people since the most recent full inspection.
