This provision is outstanding
The management team is very committed to providing high quality early years experiences to local families. They have a very strong vision and work tirelessly to continually improve the nursery. Therefore, all aspects of the provision are outstanding. Partnership working is a real strength of the nursery. Children benefit from the close working relationships between the nursery, the host children's centre and the adjacent school. Support for children's learning is identified swiftly and family support is provided when needed. Parents are very positive about the support they receive. Children are happy and content. They have a very strong bond with their key person. From when a child starts to the time they leave for school, they generally spend their whole time with one key person. This means relationships between staff and children are secure. This promotes children's emotional well-being. All aspects of teaching are very strong. Staff attend a wide range of training that is

disseminated well across the team. Staff are also very experienced and highly qualified. They use their knowledge and skills to carefully plan activities that support the interests and needs of each individual child. The nursery has a very strong focus on preparing children for school. They work extremely well with the teacher from the adjacent school to identify how to teach children the skills they need. All parents are engaged very well in children's learning. They know how their child is progressing. They are supported by staff to promote their child's learning at home.

Inspection activities
The inspector observed the quality of teaching during activities indoors and outdoors and assessed the impact this has on children's learning. The inspector completed joint observations with the childcare manager. The inspector held a meeting with the childcare manager and deputy. He looked at relevant documentation, such as the nursery's self-evaluation and evidence of the suitability of staff. The inspector spoke to a small selection of parents during the inspection and took account of their views.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is outstanding
The arrangements for safeguarding are effective. The nursery implements robust procedures, in order to keep children safe and promote their well-being. All staff know how to protect children and safeguard their welfare. They have an extensive knowledge of child protection procedures, underpinned by regular training. The monitoring of children's progress is robust. Managers are able to expertly identify the progress of individual children as well as groups of them. They use this information extremely well to set targets for further improvement to continually build on children's level of attainment. An example of this is that the progress of children who speak English as an additional language is continually improving. Performance management arrangements provide a high level of challenge to staff. Staff observe each other's practice. Managers also regularly observe and meet with staff. These methods help staff to continually build on their own teaching

and any areas for improvement are swiftly identified. Managers strive for excellence. They use collaborative meetings with other local early years settings to share practice and seek further inspiration. As a result, the nursery has continued to make excellent progress from the last inspection.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is outstanding
The daily routine is well structured to provide excellent learning opportunities for children. Managers continually review the routine and adapt it where necessary. They have recently changed adult-led group times to incorporate new teaching strategies. These are still being embedded. Managers are continuing to support these to help children get the most from these times. Staff are creative in the way they teach children the skills they need for school. One example of this is that staff teach early writing skills using play dough and dancing. This helps to develop children's hand and finger movements to be ready to write when they start school. Staff support those children who the setting receives additional funding for very well. They make excellent use of the funding to promote children's learning outcomes. One of the ways they have done this is to develop an outdoor book area for children who prefer to learn outside. This has helped to improve children's
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are outstanding
Children are learning to be tolerant and to respect each other. These are values that are promoted by staff who are excellent role models to children. The environment is of the highest quality. It motivates children to learn both inside and outside. It also caters for their care needs as younger children are able to rest when they are tired. Mealtimes promote children's good health and social skills. They are learning how to be independent as they serve their own food. These are sociable times as staff sit with children and talk.
p.3
Outcomes for children are outstanding
All children make excellent progress from their starting points. Children's rate of progress is continually improving. Staff understand the needs of all the children and adapt their teaching accordingly. Children are extremely well prepared for school and the next stage in their learning.
