The inspector took account of the views of parents, as recorded in written questionnaires.

Effectiveness of the leadership and management is outstanding
The childminder is very well qualified and regularly attends a variety of training to strengthen her working practices. Her rigorous reflection and monitoring of daily practice promote high quality outcomes for children. For example, since the last inspection the childminder has improved her knowledge of using technology. She has helped children to select and use technology confidently. For example, children delight in using the digital camera to take photographs of each other. The childminder has established exceptionally strong links with parents. She keeps parents extremely well informed about all aspects of their children's care, for example, using a very detailed daily journal and photographs. Parents contribute to their children's learning and discuss their progress regularly with the childminder. She is extremely knowledgeable about safeguarding children and the procedures to follow if she has a concern for a child's welfare. Safeguarding is effective.
p.3

The childminder plans activities focused precisely on children's individual learning needs and offers interesting and stimulating ways for them to learn. She observes children meticulously as they play and joins in to introduce fresh challenges to extend each child's learning. However, she does not always help children to think creatively.

For example, they learn to operate taps to help themselves to water when they are thirsty. The childminder talks to children about safety, for example, helping them understand the dangers of strangers. The childminder helps children to follow the house rules using very clear guidance.
