Safeguarding is effective. The childminder keeps her safeguarding knowledge up to date. She has a clear understanding of the reporting procedures to follow if she had a concern about a child's welfare. She is able to recognise the signs or symptoms which may give cause for concern. She risk assesses her home and the outings they go on. She takes appropriate action to minimise any hazards and remains vigilant to ensure that children stay safe. The childminder has a good awareness of her role and responsibilities. For example, she updates her skills, shares ideas with other childminders and reads relevant information. She reflects well on her practice to improve the quality of her provision. She regularly checks on how children are progressing so that she can change her planning and activities to provide the best possible support.
