This provision is outstanding
Teaching is outstanding. All staff have an excellent understanding of how children learn and develop. They provide highly stimulating activities and experiences that they expertly adapt, in order to meet the needs, ages, and interests of all children. Exceptionally warm interactions with children and highly successful relationships with their parents help to create an atmosphere where children feel safe and secure. The highly qualified leadership team is very experienced in supporting families. Their ethos of building strong families, who help children to develop and progress, is given high priority throughout all pre-school practices. Children are excellent communicators. All children, including disabled children and those with special educational needs, confidently use their hands to sign words and point to the picture symbol cards to express their individual needs. Rigorous monitoring of assessments of children's progress identifies any gaps in their

learning, or where they may be slow to develop. Successful relationships with other childcare professionals ensure that children get the additional support they require. A wealth of activities, both within the pre-school and the neighbouring community, helps children to learn about people, families, and communities beyond their own. Children respectfully recognise the differences between themselves and their friends. Children behave exceptionally well. They know not to distract others or become distracted themselves. 2 of 5

Inspection activities
The inspector observed the quality of teaching and the impact this has on the children's learning. The inspector conducted a joint observation with the manager. The inspector held meetings with the manager and director of the limited company. The inspector looked at all areas used by the children, and spoke with them and staff at appropriate times throughout the inspection. The inspector looked at the assessments of children and the planning documentation. The inspector checked evidence of the suitability and qualifications of staff working with the children and discussed the pre-school's improvement plans. The inspector took account of the views of parents spoken to on the day of inspection.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is outstanding
The leadership team passionately and successfully maintains and improves the levels of achievement all children make. They caringly involve, support and guide parents in their child's learning. Effective supervisions ensure that the quality of teaching remains at consistently outstanding levels. Staff are well nurtured and encouraged to become experts in a particular area of promoting children's learning. Leaders actively seek the views of staff, parents, and children to identify where pre-school practices can be further improved. The arrangements for safeguarding are effective. Staff are highly vigilant and actively promote children's well-being and welfare. All staff fully understand the procedures to follow should they have any concerns about a child's safety. Leaders and staff implement the statutory requirements to an exceptionally high standard. Leaders are actively involved in the local authority early years strategic group. They share good practice with them,

such as how they work closely with local schools. Staff effectively prepare, and emotionally support children through times of change, such as moving on to school.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is outstanding
Staff skilfully use hand puppets during small-group activities. Children enthusiastically find something big and something green. They excitedly look for objects that begin with the letter sound the puppet has asked them to find. This promotes children's listening skills exceptionally well. Parents share information with staff about what their children do and achieve at home. Children's sense of belonging and confidence are greatly boosted as they enjoy sharing their family adventures with their friends and staff. Older children enthusiastically retell the Christmas story and confidently recall the names of the wise men's gifts. They proudly announce myrrh begins with a 'm' and say that the gifts look like rectangles. These early reading and mathematical skills give children strong foundations for future learning. Staff ensure all children know about and respect the traditions of other children, including those who speak English as an additional language.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are outstanding
Highly innovative experiences, such as digging for clay in woodland streams and moulding it to make tree decorations, promote children's exploration skills superbly. Staff expertly understand that some children, and in particular boys, make quicker progress in their learning when given play experiences outdoors. They have development plans in place to further enhance all children's learning within the natural environment. Children go shopping and identify healthy foods by the quality assured kite symbol on the packaging. They learn how to handle equipment effectively, safely and independently. These activities successfully promote children's understanding of how to keep themselves safe and healthy.
p.3
Outcomes for children are outstanding
All children, including those who receive additional funding, make excellent progress given their starting points and capabilities. Children are keen learners and show determination in all that they do. 4 of 5
