The childminder is highly committed to supporting children's language, literacy and mathematical skills in readiness for school. She observes and assesses children's development and plans well for what children need to achieve next. Children make good progress in their learning and demonstrate exceptionally positive behaviour. food, outdoor play and outings to soft-play sessions. This helps to promote children's physical health and well-being successfully.
p.1
It is not yet outstanding because:
The childminder has not yet established a focused programme of professional training and development to further enhance the quality of teaching. Opportunities to further extend older children's learning are sometimes overlooked.

develop an ongoing programme of professional development to further raise the quality of teaching and the learning outcomes for children provide more opportunities for older children to consider the different ways they can use to extend their knowledge and find out more.
p.2
Inspection activities
The inspector observed the quality of teaching during activities and assessed the impact this has on children's learning. The inspector completed a joint observation with the childminder. The inspector looked at relevant documentation, such as, the self-evaluation form, training certificates and evidence of the suitability of other household members. The inspector spoke to the childminder and children at appropriate times throughout the inspection. The inspector took account of the views of parents and carers from information provided in parent's written information.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good
The arrangements for safeguarding are effective. The childminder has a good understanding of what to do if she is concerned about a child's care or welfare or if there are any allegations of abuse. She has a good range of written policies, which she reviews regularly and shares with parents so that they are aware of her practice. The childminder is open and receptive to visits, advice and guidance from local authority representatives to help her improve. She uses self-evaluation well to reflect on her practice and teaching. This helps her to successfully plan changes and monitor the impact of what she does.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
The childminder supports children's overall learning and development very well. Children listen attentively to stories and love to add pictures to the weather chart. They chat with the childminder about what it is like outside, using language appropriate for their age. The childminder displays many numbers and words around the home, which are meaningful to children. This helps to promote children's early language and literacy skills. The childminder knows children very well and where they are at in their development. She regularly makes precise assessments of children's learning and shares their learning journals with parents. She involves parents by finding out children's current interests and abilities, which helps her to plan fun and interesting activities that meet their learning needs.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are outstanding
The environment is exceptionally well maintained, safe and highly stimulating. The children demonstrate very high levels of curiosity and interest as they move around the childminder's home to explore and discover new things. They clearly love to sit in the cosy, winter den listening to stories, or sort fresh vegetables and serve them up on plates. The children show very high levels of confidence and self-esteem as they engage adults in their play and conversations. The childminder encourages children to share their resources and their behaviour is exemplary. Children are very settled and feel secure with the childminder. They have built extremely strong attachments to her and demonstration these through their very positive actions. They receive warm, natural cuddles and their emotional needs are given a very high priority. Children's health, safety and personal development is also supported extremely well. Children are developing a growing
