Effectiveness of the leadership and management is outstanding

Following the last inspection, the childminder has very successfully strengthened her partnerships with other providers, to fully promote continuity in children's learning and development. The childminder is proactive in researching information to update her exemplary childcare knowledge. This has improved how she communicates and involves parents more in their children's development. Safeguarding is effective. The childminder has a robust knowledge of the child protection procedures, which enable her to safeguard children's welfare very efficiently. The childminder works exceptionally closely with parents to include them in their children's learning. She provides a wealth of information and ideas for them to support learning at home, and ensures they are fully aware of their children's progress. Parents highly commend the childminder's care and particularly value her excellent communication with them.

p.3

Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is outstanding

Children have great fun as they learn through play. The childminder supports toddlers to be highly inquisitive and they show very keen interest in their picture books. The childminder inspires children with her innovative play materials. She makes excellent use of role play to extend children's early mathematical understanding. For example, they work out 'how many' and 'how much' as they pretend to sell ice creams at their theatre shop. Children spontaneously talk about the 'circle tunnel and triangle tent'; this shows their excellent recognition of shapes in their environment. The childminder supports children exceptionally well to use technology to look up and use information online to extend their learning, for example, following a trip to the zoo. This helps enormously to consolidate their learning as they find out more about the animals they see.

p.3

Personal development, behaviour and welfare are outstanding

Children are exceptionally proud of their achievements, such as a meticulous construction, and receive much praise and attention from the childminder, which very successfully promotes their self-esteem. Children are highly sociable and develop very competent independence skills. Children love acting out stories and doing exercises, which inspire their imaginative and physical play. The childminder ensures that everywhere is safe for children. For example, she provides safety mats in the garden to protect children as they practise their balancing skills. Children have grown cress and herbs, which provide some opportunities for them to learn about produce; however, the childminder does not extend children's learning about healthy foods and eating further.

p.3

Outcomes for children are outstanding

The childminder prepares children exceptionally well for each stage of learning and for school. Children develop exemplary skills in their early learning and development.
