This provision is good
The childminder has a strong understanding of the learning and development requirements. This helps her to provide good teaching and learning experiences to help all children progress efficiently in their learning and development. Children are happy and confident in the childminder's care. The childminder makes good use of a good range of toys and resources to enhance children's all-round learning. Children have developed strong relationships with their friends and the childminder. They play well together and their behaviour is good. The childminder promotes children's health and well-being effectively. For example, she takes children out daily and provides them with a healthy and nutritious range of snacks and drinks. The childminder is committed to continuous improvement and evaluates her practice and provision effectively. She keeps her skills up to date to improve outcomes for children.
p.1
It is not yet outstanding because:
Children do not always have opportunities to find out about other people's similarities and differences to extend their understanding of diversity. On occasion, children do not have enough time to respond to questions to help promote their thinking and language skills.

Inspection activities
The inspector observed children taking part in activities. The inspector spoke with the childminder and children at appropriate times throughout the inspection. The inspector looked at planning documentation, children's 'learning journeys', the childminder's evaluation documents, and a range of policies and children's records. The inspector gave feedback to the childminder at the end of the inspection.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good
Safeguarding is effective. The childminder has a good knowledge and understanding of how to keep children safe. She is aware of her role to protect children's welfare and fully understands the procedures to follow in the event of any concerns. The childminder has a good understanding of the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage. She uses her experience and knowledge effectively to provide exciting learning experiences to meet the individual needs of the children. The childminder carefully tracks the progress children make and she has a clear detailed assessment in place. This helps her to ensure any gaps in children's learning are swiftly identified so she can provide any additional support needed. Partnerships with parents and other professionals are well established which enables the childminder to provide continuity of care between children's schools and their homes.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
The childminder provides good quality teaching. Children enjoy a variety of interesting and fun activities which promote their learning and development well. For example, children enjoy playing imaginatively with a bird. Children enjoy looking at books together and the childminder skilfully introduces new vocabulary as she reads and talks to the children. This helps to promote their speech and understanding well. Children develop good social skills as they mix with other children at different groups that they attend. This successfully helps to prepare them well for their future learning. Children use a variety of pots, stickers and painting equipment to create pictures and large-scale models. This supports both their imaginative and their physical skills.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good
Children are settled and feel safe in the childminder's care. They confidently explore and play in her home and relate confidently and politely to others. The childminder skilfully encourages positive behaviour and praises children's actions, kindness and affection consistently. From a young age, children share well and help each search for toys and resources to facilitate their play. The childminder encourages children to evaluate risks and learn how to be safe while out in the community. For example, children know to stop and think about whether the roads are safe to cross. Children have many opportunities for fresh air and exercise to aid their well-being.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
Children make good progress in their learning and are developing good independence skills from a young age. For example, they put on their own shoes and coats and learn to do up the fastenings. This successfully aids their confidence in self-help skills ready for their move to school.
