This provision is good
The childminder works in close partnerships with parents and staff in the other settings children attend. She ensures that children benefit from continuity in care. The childminder gathers information from her observations of children's learning along with information from parents to assess how children have developed. She identifies ways forward for children and focuses on these to support their development. Children benefit from healthy lifestyles. They eat balanced meals and have many opportunities to be active while enjoying fresh air. This supports their good health and physical well-being. Children grow in independence. The childminder encourages children to manage their own care routines and make choices in their play. This helps to prepare children for the next steps in their learning. Children make good progress from their starting points. They achieve in line with the expected outcomes for their age and stage of development.

Inspection activities
The inspector observed activities indoors and outdoors. The inspector talked with the childminder and children at appropriate times throughout the inspection. The inspector looked at children's assessment records and the planning documentation. The inspector checked evidence of the childminder's qualifications and her suitability checks.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good
Safeguarding is effective. The childminder follows strict procedures to ensure children are safe in her care. She follows government regulations carefully and adapts her practices to reflect changes in legislation. The childminder actively develops her skills and knowledge in order to grow as a practitioner. For example, she is currently working towards a childcare qualification. The childminder has acted on the recommendations from her previous inspection. For example, she has introduced further resources and techniques for promoting an understanding of diversity. The childminder works with an assistant at times. She ensures her assistant follows the policies and procedures, and reminds her of updates as they occur.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
The childminder knows the children well and provides activities that appeal to their interests and individual learning needs. She promotes learning in a range of areas through activities that children choose. For example, when playing with dough, children use tools and develop language to describe their actions. The childminder offers children many opportunities to learn to tolerate and understand differences among people. She pitches these at an age-appropriate level. For example, children have conversations about favourite colours and realise that their opinions are different from those of their friends. They also find out about the wider world.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good
Children are secure and happy with the childminder. This supports their emotional well- being. They are confident in the consistent routines they follow. For example, they rush to wash their hands after playing in the garden. Children listen to her carefully and engage in conversation as they play. The childminder promotes positive behaviour through playing with children and modelling key skills such as sharing and turn taking. Children behave well. They demonstrate an understanding of the rules and are polite when they ask for things. The childminder supports children when they are due to move to other settings, such as school or pre-school. She focuses on ensuring they are ready by focusing on areas, such as managing personal hygiene and getting themselves dressed.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
Children make good progress and enjoy a range of activities, which lay the foundations for reading and writing. They freely engage in activities in which they develop their early writing skills and begin to see themselves as writers. Children are well prepared for their future learning.
