Effectiveness of the leadership and management is outstanding

The arrangements for safeguarding are highly effective. The childminder has an excellent knowledge of what would alert her to a concern about a child's welfare and clearly knows the procedure to follow to protect children from harm. She is truly committed to extending her already first-rate knowledge and skills. Her attendance at training and continual research inspires her to provide an extensive range of experiences that supports children to excel in their development. She has extremely effective systems in place to observe and assess children's learning and uses a range of effective methods to capture children's every achievement. Children's progress is effectively shared with other providers and monitored closely to ensure that any gaps in learning are swiftly identified and supported.

p.3

Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is outstanding

The childminder uses her expert knowledge of children and the information from her meticulously detailed observations and assessments to skilfully build upon children's prior learning, to ensure they make continued progress. Children develop an exceptional understanding of different festivals, such as bonfire night. They confidently share their own experiences with others to develop excellent communication skills. The childminder's excellent use of questions, and supporting fire safety video, helps to ensure that children learn about the dangers of bonfires and fireworks. The childminder provides innovative ways for children to explore colour. They closely observe her and quickly learn that red and yellow mixed together creates orange. Children could have even more opportunities to explore what happens when colours are mixed together. Children have access to an extremely inviting and vibrant playroom that is regularly enhanced in accordance with

their interests. Children are confident to take a leading role, for example, when playing shops. They develop an excellent understanding of how to use technology and of how to use money to pay for goods.

p.3

Personal development, behaviour and welfare are outstanding

The childminder forms excellent relationships with children and parents from the very onset. She provides an abundance of time for children to settle and highly values the detailed contributions from parents in relation to children's learning and care routines. Children are extremely confident to express their own needs and enjoy the responsibility of completing tasks for themselves to develop exceptional independence skills. For example, they eagerly clean up any spillages and learn to understand that keeping toys clean contributes to their good health. The childminder is an excellent role model. Children await their turn patiently, share their toys and display impeccable manners. They readily adapt their behaviour to different social situations and make new friends very easily. This supports children in being exceptionally ready for school.

p.3

Outcomes for children are outstanding

Children make outstanding progress in their learning and development. The childminder continually challenges children and deepens their learning at every opportunity to help children to be highly motivated and enthused to play and learn. This contributes to children quickly gaining the skills they need for their next stages in learning.
