This provision is outstanding
The quality of teaching is exemplary and worthy of dissemination to others. Children are highly motivated and excited to learn. The childminder tunes in to children's individual needs and provides activities, resources and an environment which captivate their interests. This means that all children make rapid progress in their learning and development. Children are confident and happy learners as they move freely around their environment. They quickly become engrossed in the wide range of rich and stimulating activities that they can choose for themselves and those which are planned by the childminder. The childminder places a great deal of emphasis on developing children's skills in communication and language. She sings with them at every opportunity. Children have developed a wide repertoire of songs and rhymes which they eagerly join in with. The childminder is keen to keep up to date with high-quality teaching so that she can

provide the best possible provision for children. She learns from others using techniques and strategies from training courses and group sessions to improve outcomes for all children. Robust policies and procedures underpin the childminder's practice. She regularly reviews them to make sure that she continues to comply with statutory requirements. Safeguarding is effective because the childminder knows and understands what to do if she is worried about a child's welfare. The childminder is an excellent role model for children. Children learn, and are fully supported, to make their own choices. They listen carefully to the childminder and to each other. Children share and cooperate, showing increasing respect for their environment and everyone in it. Children use manners spontaneously as they play and during snack times.

Inspection activities
The inspector observed the quality of teaching during activities indoors and outdoors, and assessed the impact this has on children's learning. The inspector spoke with the childminder and children at appropriate times throughout the inspection. The inspector jointly evaluated an activity with the childminder. The inspector looked at relevant documentation, such as the childminder's self- evaluation form and evidence of the suitability of adults living and working on the premises. The inspector took account of the views of parents and children through written feedback.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is outstanding
The childminder uses her childcare qualification to exemplary effect and is fully committed to her continued professional development. She supports her assistant extremely well through their daily work with children and families. Debriefing meetings at the end of each week provide an opportunity to reflect on what has gone well and what they want to improve. This means that the already very good practice continues to move forward. The arrangements for safeguarding children are effective. The childminder has excellent partnerships with parents, who are extremely happy with the care and education that she provides for their children. The childminder leads sessions in the local community, sharing her exceptional skills with others, such as singing and story time. The childminder attends groups, such as a class where adults and children learn to use basic sign language. She effectively uses this in the setting to further enhance children's language and

communication skills, which are developing exceptionally well.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is outstanding
The childminder gets to know children and their families exceedingly well from the start. Parents are encouraged to share their wealth of knowledge about what children already know and can do. The childminder carefully observes children during their play and activities. She completes precise and regular assessments which accurately summarise children's progress. The childminder shares these with parents. She then plans rich and varied activities that highly stimulate children's curiosity and thirst for learning. The childminder makes the whole day fun. She uses a playful approach to teaching. Children are happy and sing along as they tidy away their toys, finding all the bricks or collecting all the ducks to fill the basket.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are outstanding
Children are developing an excellent understanding of healthy lifestyles. They talk about healthy food as they choose which fruit they would like for snack and during their games. Children enjoy uninterrupted time outdoors, where they are physically active. They freely climb, bounce, ride and use tools. The childminder has very high expectations. This means that children have belief and confidence in their own ability to do things for themselves and take reasonable risks. The childminder gives them opportunities to challenge themselves, while she is close at hand to offer support if they need it. Children are given as much time as they need to talk, explain their thinking and ask questions. This extends children's thinking skills extremely well. Children's behaviour is exemplary.
p.3
Outcomes for children are outstanding
Children are highly motivated and make extremely strong progress from their starting points. They are keen, eager and cannot wait to join in with the activities on offer in the highly stimulating environment. Children show a love of books and choose their favourites to share with friends. They link sounds to letters as they tell the childminder how to spell their names, and read signs and labels all around them. They are extremely well prepared for the next stage in their learning, including the move on to school.
