This provision is outstanding
The quality of teaching is extremely good. Children of all ages and abilities make excellent progress, relative to their starting points. Observations of children are used very effectively to make ongoing and precise assessments of children's progress. Monitoring of children's learning is rigorous and the childminder quickly identifies and tackles any development gaps to help all children reach their full potential. Children thoroughly enjoy the extremely good variety of activities that promote their learning. They independently choose from the extensive range of resources as they develop their play. Children play cooperatively and they share and take turns very well. Children are confident and happy and show high levels of self-esteem. Very good settling-in processes result in all children, including babies, quickly feeling safe and secure with the childminder. The childminder works closely in partnership with other providers, where children

attend more than one setting. Systems to share information about children's learning are extremely good. As a result, plans for individual progress are consistent in identifying learning objectives.

develop further activities that encourage children to explore and experiment with music and sounds.

Inspection activities
The inspector observed the childminder engaged in activities with children. The inspector spoke to parents. The inspector talked to the childminder about how she monitors and evaluates her practice and makes improvements. The inspector talked to the childminder about how children's learning is monitored and how she plans for ongoing progress. The inspector sampled required records and discussed the procedures in place that help to safeguard children.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is outstanding
The childminder's self-evaluations are highly effective. She reflects very well on her practice to help her make ongoing improvements. She applies knowledge learned through training extremely effectively in order to benefit children. For example, she has introduced a new system of monitoring children's speech and language development. This has led to much sharper assessments in this area. She quickly identifies any concerns about speech development and seeks appropriate support at an early stage. Safeguarding is effective. The childminder has a thorough understanding of the procedures to follow to help protect children from harm.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is outstanding
The childminder uses her excellent communication skills very well to extend children's learning. For example, at the inspection, children explored a basket of autumn leaves and commented that these made a 'scrunch' sound. The childminder encouraged children to explore words that rhyme with this and they eagerly made many suggestions, including 'bunch'. They went on to talk about a bunch of bananas, bunches of flowers, and identified that a child had bunches in their hair. There is scope to develop activities that encourage children to explore and experiment with music and sounds. The childminder develops strong relationships with parents and actively involves them in their children's learning. For example, simple activities such as collecting a set number of objects that reflect autumn effectively involve parents in developing children's number skills. Babies are happy and secure. They laugh delightedly as the childminder tickles them, moving their

arms and legs to help them develop the muscles that will later help them to roll and crawl.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are outstanding
Children's behaviour is extremely good. Older children are very kind and caring towards younger friends, and include them in their play. For example, they spent time helping babies learn to roll balls and were very encouraging towards them. Children enjoy playing outside and being physically active. The childminder promotes babies' physical development extremely well, such as using mirrors to catch the light, encouraging them to look and reach out. Children's safety awareness is developed very well through daily routines. For example, they help to prepare fruit for snacks, using knives safely and with control.
p.3
Outcomes for children are outstanding
Children are highly independent and confidently communicate their needs. They make excellent progress, so are very well prepared for the next stage in learning and school.
