The inspector viewed all areas of the home that are used for childminding. The inspector looked at children's assessment records and a range of other documentation, including policies and procedures and the childminder's self-evaluation form. The inspector checked evidence of the childminder's training and the suitability of all adults working with the children or living on the premises. The inspector spoke with the childminder and a parent at appropriate times during the inspection. The inspector observed the quality of teaching during indoor activities and assessed the impact this has on children's learning.

Children make good progress with their communication and language skills and this supports them well for the next stage in their learning. The childminder makes regular assessments of children's learning and development and uses this information well to plan for children's individual learning. p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good

She provides reassurance and affection to promote their self- esteem and to help them settle in her care. She talks to parents every day and sends text messages to let them know about their children's progress and activities. The childminder works in partnership with parents so that key routines, such as naps and feeding times, are managed consistently. This helps children to feel comfortable and secure in the childminder's home. The childminder fully promotes children's health and safety. She teaches children about good hygiene practices and washes her hands before preparing food and after changing nappies.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
Children make good progress and develop the key skills needed for their future learning, such as starting school or nursery. The childminder clearly understands the importance of monitoring the progress children make.
