Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good
Arrangements for safeguarding are effective. The childminder knows the correct procedure to follow if she has any concerns about a child in her care. The childminder attends training and reflects on her practice to drive improvements to her teaching and the overall quality of the provision. She has established strong links with other childminders to share ideas and keep up to date with best practice. The childminder uses a tracking system to accurately document each child's stage of development. This clearly shows the good progress that each child is making. However, she does not regularly share this information with parents. Nevertheless, parents are very happy with the care provided and they highly commend her provision.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
The childminder's good teaching methods support children's learning and development. She collects accurate information from parents to support her initial assessment of children's development. The childminder observes and discovers what children need to learn next and plans effectively for this. She follows children's interests to extend their learning. When children are fascinated by bubbles, she provides a bowl of water full of bubbles for them to explore. Children delight in their play as the childminder uses every opportunity to promote learning about colour, size and shape. The childminder repeats the correct pronunciation of children's words, speaking clearly and using different tones. She helps them to speak confidently as they play and learn. The childminder shares some care information with other providers. However, information about what children are currently learning is not effectively shared. This means the childminder cannot effectively build on

She encourages daily play in the garden or trips to local parks. Children are encouraged to keep themselves safe. The childminder reminds them of simple precautions, such as not leaving toys in doorways.
