The provision does not meet requirements

 The provider knows how to assess children's achievements to identify their progress. Records show that children generally make steady progress. However, the provider does not ensure that planned activities offer a good level of challenge for all children. Therefore, children do not make as much progress as they could.  Parents do not receive regular updates regarding their children's progress and next steps for their development to enable them to provide consistent learning opportunities at home. Similarly, information sharing with other settings does not focus on children's ongoing progress.  The provider offers some support to staff to discuss day-to-day issues. However, she does not provide opportunities for them to improve their personal effectiveness. As a result, the team lacks confidence and inspiration to implement new ideas and make changes to routines and procedures.  The provider sets out a broad range of resources that can be used to promote all areas

of learning.  The provider recognises the importance of forming strong relationships with children to make them feel welcome and valued. This supports children's personal, social and emotional development.  The provider understands the importance of supporting children to become independent in their self-care, in preparation for the move to school.  Safeguarding is effective. The provider is aware of child protection issues and has an appropriate understanding of the procedures to follow in the event of safeguarding concerns.

The provision does not meet requirements

There were no children present when this inspection took place. The findings in this report are based on evidence gathered from discussions with those who care for the children and an inspection of the premises, equipment and relevant documentation. Where there are no children present, no judgement is made on the quality of the early years provision as there is no reliable evidence on which to assess its impact on children. The report states whether the provider continues to meet the requirements of registration.
