This monitoring visit
This home is subject to a restriction of accommodation notice. This notice restricts the admission of young people to the home for a specified period of time. This is due to concerns about: the management of allegations, the management of risk, leadership and management and the sharing of information relating to the welfare and safety of young people at the home. In order to evaluate the progress the home has made in addressing these concerns a monitoring visit was undertaken on 14 August 2015.
p.2
This monitoring visit
At the time of the visit the home was unoccupied because a team of builders were on the site, engaging in major refurbishment works. Due to the state of the premises the inspector was unable to gain entry and discussion with the responsible individual took place over the phone.
p.2
This monitoring visit
The responsible individual confirmed that the two young people previously living at the home had moved on and no new referrals were being sought at this stage. Therefore the responsible individual had complied with the restriction of accommodation notice.
p.2
This monitoring visit
The responsible individual confirmed the home would not be ready for occupancy for at least a further six weeks. During this time, the responsible individual explained that they would be a focus on staff recruitment, the statement of purpose will be revised and leadership and management arrangements which include the commissioning of a new independent visitor and the appointment of a manager.
p.2
This monitoring visit
These plans could not be verified or evidenced during the visit. Therefore, the requirements in relation to the protection of children, leadership and management arrangements and statement of purpose remain in place. Progress against these requirements will be examined at the next monitoring visit which will also examine the remaining requirements made from the previous inspection of 17 June 2015.
p.2
This monitoring visit
Given that no children are currently living at the home and work is taking place to upgrade the premises, Ofsted has made the decision not to continue with the restriction of accommodation notice.
