Inspection activities
The inspector read parents' written comments to gather their views. The inspector spoke to the childminder to check her understanding of the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage and carried out a joint observation with her. The inspector observed the childminder's interaction with children. The inspector toured the areas of the premises that children use. The inspector sampled some documentation, including the childminder's policies and other records.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good
The childminder has a thorough understanding of her responsibilities to meet the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage. As a result, the standard of her practice is good. Safeguarding is effective. The childminder carries out regular checks to make sure the areas and resources children use remain safe. She practises fire drills with children to help them learn how to keep themselves safe. The childminder evaluates her practice and invites feedback from others, including parents and children, to help make improvements that offer children better outcomes. She seeks advice and training to enrich her practice and she is well qualified. This has a positive impact on the quality of support that she offers, to help children reach their full potential.

They have good opportunities to develop their physical skills, such as folding up their wraps at lunch time and playing in the garden. Children interact with each other, and with other children and childminders when they meet at various groups. The childminder effectively promotes the differences within the wider world.

Younger children are also encouraged to take regular naps to keep them well. The childminder offers children healthy snacks and meals, and they have access to fresh drinking water at all times. Children have good opportunities to exercise when they use scooters to travel to and from school and pre-school, and visit local outside areas.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
