Effectiveness of the leadership and management is outstanding

The childminder has a level 3 qualification in childcare and is very experienced. A highly effective system for monitoring children's progress identifies key areas of development for children. The childminder has strong established links in the local community. This provides excellent opportunities for children's developing social skills. This includes learning about differences and similarities in each other and introducing children to wider society. The childminder has a very good understanding of how working with other professionals leads to improvements for children. She knows where and how to find further information. Safeguarding is effective. The childminder's procedures and practice ensure children's safety and welfare at all times.

p.3

Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is outstanding

Activities and experiences are sharply focused on children's individual learning. The childminder has excellent knowledge of children's skills, achievements and needs. Children thoroughly enjoy their play. For example, children showed delight in constructing a small world farm with animals and a road, following a recent outing to the farm. Children's thinking skills are highly developed. However, occasionally, children are unable to fully think through and consider ways to solve problems for themselves. Parents highly praise the excellent service they receive. They are well informed about their children's developmental progress. The childminder uses daily discussions with the children about their family and home life to build extremely successful parent partnerships.

p.3

Personal development, behaviour and welfare are outstanding

Children are very confident in their abilities. The easily accessible and highly stimulating environment encourages children to be successful and independent in their learning. Motivating discussions at meal and snack times encourage children's understanding of healthy food choices. The childminder provides balanced, varied healthy foods for snack time. Children develop exceptional understanding of safe practice through play and independently managing risks and challenges, such as managing steps and careful climbing. Children have a fantastic time. They develop self-control and learn to share and take turns through the consistent management of their behaviour and their understanding of boundaries.

p.3

Outcomes for children are outstanding

All children make exceptional progress in relation to their starting points. Children develop outstanding skills in their personal development ready for the next stage in their learning, including moving to school.
