their learning from their starting points.  There are superb partnerships with parents. The childminder wholly includes them in determining the starting points for their children's learning and keeps them fully informed of the progress they make. This means that parents are very clear about their children's learning and achievements.  The childminder evaluates her practice exceptionally well; she takes into account the views of parents and children. She sets targeted priorities that very effectively improve her practice and the outcomes for children.  The childminder's quality of teaching is excellent.  promote more opportunities for children to develop their understanding of technology.

p.2

Inspection activities

 The inspector observed children engaged in activities and the childminder's interaction with them.  The inspector spoke with the children and childminder at convenient times.  The inspector took into account the written views of parents.  The inspector sampled various documents, including children's learning records, the childminder's self-evaluation form, risk assessments and relevant policies and procedures.

p.2

Effectiveness of the leadership and management is outstanding

Safeguarding is effective. The childminder maintains meticulous documentation and regularly reviews and updates it in line with the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage. This results in her having a thorough understanding of child protection and the procedures to follow to safeguard children from harm. The childminder very effectively networks regularly with other childminders to share information and practice ideas. She has addressed the recommendation from the previous inspection very well and continues to promote the successful partnerships with other settings to ensure children receive exceptional support when they move on in their education. The childminder puts her training to great effect to improve her teaching. For example, after renewing her first- aid certificate, she planned some excellent learning opportunities with the children; they experienced bandaging, walking with the aid of crutches and using a wheelchair. state that they are exceedingly happy with the care their children receive. They comment very positively on the exceptional range of activities, experiences and outings the childminder offers.

p.3

Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is outstanding

Children benefit from the extremely effective and stimulating programme of activities that very successfully meets their interests. Under the childminder's expert interaction, children were deeply engrossed as they made intricate play dough models of their family, friends and pets. They made furniture and other possessions, and used their language skills outstandingly well to imagine, recreate roles and different experiences, share their ideas and give instructions in their play. The childminder very skilfully encourages children to be very confident and clear communicators. Children access technology resources to support their imaginative play. However, they do not have access to a wider range to extend their understanding of how technology works.

p.3

Personal development, behaviour and welfare are outstanding

Children form particularly strong relationships with the childminder. She seeks in-depth information from parents to ensure she knows the children thoroughly. This means children settle exceptionally well with her and are very keen to participate. The childminder constantly praises and encourages children's achievements to ensure their very high self-esteem. As a result, children are highly confident, enormously friendly, behave exceptionally well, and are naturally inquisitive. The childminder prepares healthy snacks and meals and teaches children about making healthy choices. Children develop valuable social skills when they sit with the childminder at the table at mealtimes. The childminder supports children especially well to be independent in attending to their personal hygiene needs.

p.3

Outcomes for children are outstanding

Children display particularly high interest in the very stimulating activities that the childminder provides. They become deeply absorbed in activities and are highly motivated and well supported to spend time to explore their ideas thoroughly. This supports them to become very independent learners and to be exceptionally well prepared to develop the skills for future learning and school.
