This provision is outstanding
All children make excellent progress in their learning and development. The childminder has a strong overview of the educational programme, which ensures children are very well supported and stimulated to reach their full potential. The childminder's home is dedicated to her childminding setting. The environment is bright, spacious and well presented. Children display high levels of confidence and self- motivation. They select the resources they would like to play with and develop activities on their own and with the childminder's help. The childminder develops very close relationships with the children and their families from the outset. She takes the time to get to know them well and establishes how she can support them to feel comfortable and happy using the setting. Children settle quickly into her care and are always eager to include her in their play. Partnership working is exceptional. Parents comment that the childminder has been an

invaluable source of advice and guidance regarding their children's care and learning needs. The childminder makes use of a wide variety of strategies to engage parents, professionals and other providers in sharing information in different ways. Continuity of children's care and learning is very well promoted. The childminder is highly reflective and works hard to ensure that everything she does has a positive impact on the outcomes for children in her care. She accurately evaluates the setting, is driven in her pursuit of excellence and is always thinking about how she can even further develop the care and education she provides. The childminder's understanding of her responsibility to implement the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage is outstanding. She makes use of highly effective documentation, policies and procedures to ensure children's safety and welfare are rigorously promoted.

Inspection activities
The inspector observed teaching practice and conducted a joint observation with the childminder. The inspector viewed the areas used for childminding and held discussions with the childminder. The inspector looked at the documents available, including children's learning records, policies and procedures. The inspector checked evidence of the suitability and qualifications of the childminder. The inspector discussed with the childminder her methods for self-evaluation. The inspector sought children's and parents' views from discussions held and written comments available.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is outstanding
The childminder puts safeguarding children at the heart of everything she does. All areas of the environment are robustly risk assessed and all hazards are minimised. The childminder keeps her own safeguarding knowledge up to date and makes use of what she knows to adapt her practice and make even further improvements. The childminder is well qualified and has been building on her professional development since the last inspection. She is keen to learn more herself and has plans in place to enhance her knowledge and skills even further in the future. This approach has an extremely positive impact on the excellent quality of care and education she provides.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is outstanding
The quality of teaching is consistently high. The childminder knows children exceptionally well and frequently checks their progress to ensure she can promote it in the best possible way. Younger children are beginning to demonstrate an interest in playing games with others. The childminder supports them to take turns and encourages them to share the resources. This helps to promote their social skills. Older children are developing an inquisitive nature. The childminder makes the most of opportunities to encourage them to think, experiment and share their ideas. This helps to develop their understanding of the wider world and communication skills. The childminder makes use of her expert knowledge to provide children with a wide variety of experiences and activities that promote their individual learning.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are outstanding
Care practices are outstanding. Children's physical well-being is positively promoted. The childminder teaches them about keeping themselves safe and healthy. She talks to children about the risks within the environment and gives them opportunities to overcome these themselves. For example, she encourages children to work out how they can use the swing safely in the garden. She provides children with nutritious meals and supports them in making their own healthy choices and considering the benefits of eating well. Children's emotional well-being is equally well promoted. Children learn about respecting each other and the childminder's home. She actively encourages them to follow the simple rules of the setting, such as playing together and caring for each other. Children behave particularly well and consistently think of ways to include everyone in their games.
p.3
Outcomes for children are outstanding
Children make rapid progress and are consistently achieving at levels above expected for their age. The childminder ensures that children are equipped with all the skills they will need in readiness to move on to school. Children swiftly become independent as they are prompted to manage their own care needs from an early age and positively encouraged to help the childminder with small tasks, such as laying the table for lunch. Children's literacy and mathematical skills are developing particularly well because they begin to read, write, count and solve problems involving number as they play.
