to enable her to complement children's learning.

p.1

It is not yet outstanding because:

 The childminder does not fully encourage parents to share information with her about the progress children make in their learning at home.  The childminder does not yet capture the views of parents and children when identifying further priorities for improvement.

p.1

What the setting needs to do to improve further

To further improve the quality of the early years provision the provider should:

What the setting needs to do to improve further

 obtain information from parents about children's achievements at home and use this to plan and share ideas about how to move children forward in their learning  build on self-evaluation, seeking and using the views of parents and children to help to identify further priorities for improvement.

who attend. This is good

The well-qualified childminder demonstrates a thorough understanding of the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage and uses this to plan activities based around the children's interests. Children are motivated to learn. The childminder plays alongside children and encourages them to make new discoveries, allowing them time to become deeply engaged in their learning. The childminder actively promotes children's communication and language skills and regularly engages children in conversation as they play. She completes regular observations and assessments and accurately tracks the good progress children make. This enables her to swiftly identify any gaps in learning. However, parents are not always fully encouraged to contribute their observations of children's achievements to help inform the ongoing assessment process and help plan for children's future learning.

p.3

outstanding

The childminder provides a warm, rich and highly stimulating environment. The childminder organises her vibrant environment to enable children to access their chosen resources independently. The childminder is exceptionally skilled at supporting children to form secure attachments. She offers a very caring and sensitive approach to meeting the individual needs of the children in her care. As a result, children demonstrate that they feel safe, which promotes their sense of security and emotional well-being. The childminder ensures a high priority is placed on safeguarding practices. The childminder maximises opportunities to promote children's understanding of how to keep themselves safe. Excellent care practices are followed. The childminder talks to children about the importance of good hygiene practices as they help to prepare the snack. Children demonstrate they feel a sense of achievement by the consistent praise and

encouragement they are given. The childminder's flexible approach develops excellent relationships with children and their families. This encourages them to become confident learners and helps them to become emotionally ready for their next stage in learning. The childminder provides a range of experiences indoors and outdoors to effectively support children's physical development.

p.3

provision is good

The childminder has made improvements since her last inspection. The childminder exchanges good practice with other childminders as part of her systems to bring about continuous improvement. She values opportunities to improve the quality of her practice and regularly undertakes training to keep up to date with current guidance and legislation and to enhance her practice. However, she does not always involve parents and children in reviewing the quality of her practice.
