who attend. This is good

Children thrive in this happy environment. The childminder plans in advance so that resources children like are easily accessible. She follows the children's current interests and plans activities which she knows will extend their skills. For example, a very young child likes playing outdoors. The childminder prepares the garden in advance of the child attending ensuring interesting resources are easily to hand. They play together outdoors exploring the various items. The childminder encourages communication and language well. She instinctively extends the child's sounds into sentences and words. Development is very closely monitored across each area of learning in partnership with parents. This helps to ensure children make consistent developmental progress.

p.3

outstanding

The childminder is an exemplary role model who successfully encourages good behaviour through her consistent boundaries and expectations. Children's emotional development is promoted very effectively. The childminder is sensitive to the children's individual needs and adapts to meet them. She helps children to identify their feelings and learn appropriate behaviours. The childminder, in partnership with parents, helps children to prepare and adapt to changes in their lives, for example, when they start school or if changes occur in their family. Good health is effectively promoted through simple familiar routines and conversations. Physical skills develop as children climb on and off ride-on toys, and explore the many outdoor activities the childminder offers. Children visit activities in the local community where they develop their social skills as they meet other adults and children. The childminder encourages children to learn the importance of good

hygiene routines and sets a positive example to them. Children particularly enjoy the freshly prepared nutritious healthy food the childminder provides.

p.3

provision is good

The childminder meets all the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage. She demonstrates a good awareness of all aspects of safeguarding. For example, her premises are safe and extensive risk assessments are undertaken to identify and manage any potential risks. Partnerships with parents and professionals are very good. For example, daily conversations with parents ensure information is exchanged and all involved are well informed. This mutual understanding enhances the care offered and consequently the well-being of the child. Good use is made of the resources for young children in the community. This helps to develop positive relationships with other professionals. Developmental records are shared with parents and their comments are welcomed and valued. The childminder actively seeks the views of parents and children. This valuable information helps her to evaluate and further enhance her provision.
