who attend. This is outstanding
The childminder is a highly effective early years educator. She plans a very wide range of stimulating activities, projects and outings that cover the seven areas of learning successfully. She also supports children extremely well in their learning during activities. For example, she challenges their thinking as she helps them to understand concepts, such as longer and shorter when they make their monster models. She uses very good observations that show how children make excellent progress from their starting points and during the time they are with her. The childminder prepares children extremely well for school. She encourages them to become independent with their self-care, health and hygiene tasks. She motivates children to enjoy playing games when they are out and about in the environment that consolidate and extend their learning, such as recognising and pointing out numbers and letters on doors and buses. Activities such as these help to

The childminder provides a warm, welcoming home and children have a place for their belongings and their art work is displayed. Most toys and equipment are easily accessible. However, the childminder is aware that she could be more creative with the use of space within her home and the storage of some equipment to make this more accessible, to support the younger children's independence further. Children are very confident and self- motivated as they ask for particular toys or make decisions about what they would like to do. They follow excellent hygiene and safety practices and enjoy healthy snacks, such as fresh fruit. Snack time is a beneficial and social occasion where children come together with the childminder and chat. She uses these routines to further promote children's communication and language as she introduces new words, such as juicy and sticky. The childminder ensures that children have an abundance of opportunities for fresh air and
