Children are making good progress because the childminder is knowledgeable about how children learn. The childminder provides children with exciting and challenging play, which covers all areas of learning. The childminder effectively evaluates her provision so that practice is continually developing and plans for continuous improvement are in place. Children's personal, social and emotional development are well promoted through regular praise and encouragement. All children make strong bonds with the childminder and each other. This helps to promote children's well-being and independence. Partnerships with local schools and nurseries are good. They share information about planning and assessment, which enables them to work effectively together. Children behave well. They share resources, take turns and attempt to resolve their own conflicts during play. Therefore, they respect one another and develop good social

who attend. This is good
Children are provided with a range of interesting and age-appropriate learning experiences. Planning is based on children's interests to support their individual needs and the next steps in their learning. The quality of teaching is good. The childminder's interactions are positive and show her good understanding of how to promote children's play. Children enjoy investigating how magnets work and constructing castles. The childminder fosters children's speaking and listening skills as she talks to them about what they are doing. Consequently, children are motivated to learn and show high levels of confidence in exploring their surroundings. The childminder makes regular observations and assessments of children's learning. She uses this information well to help children develop a wide range of skills, in readiness for school.
p.3
good
Children are happy and settled in this warm and caring family environment. The childminder is a good role model and makes children feel comfortable as she is happy, calm and kind towards children. Consequently, the childminder effectively supports children's emotional readiness for future learning. The childminder promotes children's physical development and supports their understanding of healthy lifestyles. She provides a range of healthy, freshly prepared meals and snacks. Children learn to adopt good hygiene routines. Children choose from a wide selection of accessible, good quality toys and resources. p.3
provision is good
The childminder has a strong knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage and ensures her home is safe and secure. She has a robust understanding of the procedures to follow should she have a concern about a child. She carries out ongoing risk assessments to help her identify and minimise potential hazards for children and keep them safe at all times. The childminder is well qualified and continually updates her knowledge through attendance at a childminder network group. Children's assessments are monitored well. This ensures any intervention required is sought at the earliest stage, in order to meet children's individual needs. The childminder makes sure parents are informed about their child's progress and the daily activities they have participated in. However, there are not extensive opportunities for parents to share information regarding children's learning at home. This means the childminder does not have all relevant information needed to
