This provision is good

 The childminder has a lovely relationship with the children in her care. They are happy and confident in her home and have a good sense of belonging.  The childminder has a very good understanding of the children's development and uses good teaching methods to help them make good progress in all areas of their learning.  The childminder spends time reflecting on the success of the way she works and attends regular training. As a result, she has improved the way she assesses children's development.  The childminder has made strong relationships with the parents which ensures children are well supported in their routines and learning.  The childminder has a good understanding of safeguarding children. She is aware of the process to follow if she is worried about a child or an allegation was to be made against her.

p.1

It is not yet outstanding because:

 The childminder does not make the most of toys and daily activities to develop children's understanding of shape and space to further their mathematical skills. The childminder chooses which of the children's toys and equipment to put out. However, she does not always ensure children have regular access to toys that promote their understanding of technology.

who attend. This is good

The childminder provides children with a good range of toys and resources to support their learning and development. She ensures they are in easy reach for the children so that they can be independent and make choices. For example, young children develop their imaginations as they play at being at home with a toy kitchen. The childminder talks to the children about what they are doing and introduces new words to them. She repeats words back that children say. As a result, children make good progress in their communication and language development. The childminder introduces basic counting to young children, for example, counting to three as they slide dolls down a slide. The childminder is attentive to individual children's needs. She supports their routines and provides comforters at times when they need them. Children are supported well for their move on to nursery or school. The childminder creates a more focused routine for them
