who attend. This is good

The childminder has a wealth of experience and ensures that children receive high-quality learning and care from the moment they start with her. There are very good strategies to engage parents in their children's learning and to enable this learning to continue at home. The childminder plans activities that cover the seven areas of learning well and she follows children's interests. This motivates children to learn. However, there are occasions when opportunities to use mathematical language and consolidate what children already know are missed. The childminder uses the knowledge gained from her early years qualification to accurately assess children's achievements and track their progress towards the early learning goals. This enables swift intervention through the identification of any gaps in learning. The quality of teaching is consistently good.

outstanding

Children show that they feel valued, safe and secure. The childminder forms strong bonds with the children, which supports them to feel confident and emotionally prepares them for their next stage in learning. The childminder uses opportunities well to help children to develop their independence skills, for example, she encourages children to do things for themselves. This motivates them to learn. She offers praise and encouragement when children carry out self-care tasks. This supports children's emotional well-being. The childminder is an excellent role model for children and consistently encourages positive behaviour. As a result, children's behaviour is exemplary. She places a high emphasis on safeguarding. She attends regular training and is aware of who to contact if she has concerns about a child's welfare. The environment is exceptional in promoting learning and has an extensive range of accessible resources, which children can independently

choose from throughout the session. The childminder promotes the benefits of healthy lifestyles extremely well. Children are provided with nutritious snacks and drinks and also benefit from opportunities to develop their physical skills during outdoor play.

p.3

provision is good

The childminder actively reviews her provision, including meeting the recommendations from her previous inspection. She is well qualified and routinely accesses additional training. The childminder attends regular network groups to enable her to reflect on practice and keep up to date with current guidance and legislation. She works closely in partnership with other childminders and organises story sessions held by external providers, which enhance children's communication and language skills. This supports the quality of her teaching. The childminder has developed good links with the local school and shares information about children to support them effectively when they move there from her setting. Documentation is very well organised and the childminder has effective policies and procedures in place to ensure children's safety.
