who attend. This is good
Children benefit from being in a well-organised, and welcoming environment. They can access toys freely and learn independently. Children enjoy a good balance of adult-led and child-initiated play. The childminder takes every opportunity to build on children's ideas and extend their learning. She adapts planned activities to build on children's interest and skills in other aspects of learning as the opportunity arises. The childminder completes accurate assessments of children's progress and shares them with parents. However, she is not always successful in finding out about what children are achieving at home. This means that she does not have a full picture of children's achievement from which to plan very precisely for their future learning. The childminder gets to know the children well. She uses her knowledge and skills to plan activities for individual children that are both challenging and enjoyable. Children of all ages make very good progress in their

outstanding
The childminder is extremely attentive to young children's individual needs. Her skilful approach to managing behaviour ensures children quickly learn how to respect each other and be kind. The childminder strikes an excellent balance between the need to keep children safe and promoting their independence. All children are encouraged to take managed risks and to quickly learn how to avoid danger. As a result, children are confident and secure as they explore a highly challenging and exciting environment. The childminder's assessments and observations are used exceptionally well. They support her to accurately identify children's personal social and emotional skills. She takes a very individual approach to meeting each child's needs. The childminder maintains her home well. The outdoor environment has been very well considered and planned to provide children with excellent opportunities to learn and develop new skills.
p.3
provision is good
The childminder demonstrates a good understanding of the learning and development requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage. The childminder has excellent knowledge of potential signs of abuse. Her understanding of the procedures to follow if she has concerns about a child's well-being is very good. She uses a range of procedures and policies that underpin her practice in promoting children's health, safety and well- being. Risk assessments are used well to ensure children's safety. The childminder has high expectations of herself. She continually updates her knowledge and training to improve her practice. The childminder is aware of her strengths and accurately recognises areas for improvement. However, the childminder does not take account of parent's views when reflecting on the quality of her provision. This means she does not have a full picture of how well the provision meets parents' needs.
