p.1
This provision is good
The childminder provides a stimulating environment that enables children to explore and investigate freely and actively engage in their learning. The childminder makes good use of her observations to assess how children are developing and to plan for what they need to learn next. As a result, children make good progress in their learning. The childminder supports children to learn about healthy eating as they help to grow and harvest many different vegetables. The childminder has a good knowledge of child protection procedures. She fully understands her responsibility to protect the welfare and safety of the children in her care. The childminder recognises the importance of professional development and attends regular training to keep her knowledge up to date and improve her practice.
p.1
It is not yet outstanding because:
Children do not consistently enjoy play experiences that represent and enable them to use their home languages. This slightly reduces the help they receive to develop their language skills as they learn and reflect on their home experiences.

who attend. This is good
The childminder provides a wide range of readily available resources and interesting experiences for children. Children respond very well to this and are curious and motivated to learn. The childminder's assessment systems show that children make steady progress. She is skilled at tuning in to children's interests, in particular with physical play and ball games. The garden offers space for children to develop their physical skills as they enjoy using a range of different play equipment. Children have great fun as they throw the ball to the childminder and aim for the basketball net. They measure, balance and explore sand using funnels and tubes. The childminder skilfully supports children's language development by speaking clearly with them as she demonstrates how the funnels work. She provides resources to engage children, such as play telephones, which promote children's language in their imaginative play. She is actively involved in children's

good
The childminder has created a nurturing environment where all children are respected and valued. Children are happy and relate well to the childminder because she is very kind and caring. The childminder's frequent praise and encouragement successfully promote children's confidence and emotional well-being. Children benefit from stimulating outings that maximise their confidence and social skills. These also help children to learn about their diverse world. The childminder raises children's awareness of diversity through a good range of activities to celebrate different festivals. Strong procedures are in place to extend children's independence and self-help skills. For example, they make their own choices about their play, complete activities themselves, and wash their hands before eating. This helps to prepare them for their next stage of learning.

provision is good
The childminder has a good understanding of the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage. She effectively evaluates her practice, which clearly shows her dedication to developing her ideas and skills. This has a significant impact on how she promotes outcomes for children. The childminder has very positive relationships with parents. They comment how much they appreciate her ongoing support and feel very reassured of the quality of the care their children receive. The childminder gives great emphasis to keeping children safe and continually assesses their safety and well-being. She has developed excellent information sharing practices with parents, which fully promote continuity in children's care and learning.
