who attend. This is good
The quality of teaching is good. The childminder understands how children learn and knows how to keep them motivated. She knows children well and works with children's own ideas and preferences to provide challenging and stimulating activities. The childminder confidently plans learning experiences, such as making a rock pool out of sand, stones and water. She uses this activity to teach children about the environment as well as helping them to learn new words such as 'starfish'. The childminder uses very good skills in helping children to speak and use words in context. As a result, children's communication and language is progressing extremely well. The childminder supports children's play effectively so that they have worthwhile experiences across all areas of learning. good

The childminder discusses and agrees the routines for young children, ensuring there is continuity between what parents do and what takes place in her setting. She promotes young children's physical health well. She ensures young children sleep according to their established patterns. Children drink frequently during the day. They eat healthy and nutritious meals which the childminder freshly prepares. Children's physical skills are developing as they play outside daily with a wide range of interesting and challenging resources. Young children are learning how to be independent and try to take their own shoes off when they come in from the garden. All of these skills help children to move on in their development and be confident to start school.
p.3
provision is good
The childminder sustains her professional development by regularly undertaking training courses. She uses knowledge gained through training to make further improvements to how she observes, tracks and assesses children's learning and development. She has well- established relationships with staff at other early years settings children attend. She keeps up-to-date with the activities they provide so that she can enhance and extend children's interests and enjoyment. This helps to keep children motivated to learn. The childminder fully understands how to keep children safe from harm. She ensures her home and garden are safe, and children learn how to use tools and equipment safely. The childminder clearly knows the procedure to follow if she has a concern about a child in her care.
