This provision is good
The well-qualified childminder has a good knowledge of how children learn and develop and of children's individual interests. She uses this knowledge effectively to plan activities that children enjoy and find interesting. As a result, children make good progress and become ready for their next stage in learning. The childminder interacts well with children; she continually talks to them throughout their play, asking relevant questions and modelling language. This helps to successfully develop children's communication and thinking skills. Children are happy, well settled and enjoy warm relationships with the childminder. This contributes to children being confident and emotionally secure in their surroundings. The childminder has a good understanding of how to promote children's safety and well-being. She uses her robust policies, procedures and risk assessments to support her practice to keep children safe and protected from harm.

who attend. This is good
The childminder regularly observes and assesses children's progress. She uses the information to plan purposeful experiences and to provide a range of challenging activities to promote children's learning and development. The quality of teaching is good. The qualified childminder uses a wide range of teaching strategies to extend children's knowledge and understanding in all areas of learning. The childminder sensitively joins in with children's play and promotes children's mathematical development and communication skills. However, opportunities for children to learn about the natural world have not been fully promoted. Children are developing the skills to be ready for future learning and eventually school as they show high levels of concentration and are eager to learn. They demonstrate they are sociable, articulate and positively interact with the childminder. The childminder works well with parents. She gains initial information from

good
Children are happy and relaxed. The childminder helps children to form secure attachments with her as she is calm, caring and has a sensitive manner. She regularly praises and encourages children throughout their activities, which contributes to them feeling valued and appreciated. The childminder is a positive role model and encourages children to use their manners. Children are provided with a stimulating, welcoming and well-resourced environment, both inside and outdoors. However, younger children have fewer opportunities to develop their independence because the childminder has not provided them with enough opportunities to independently access resources in the playroom. Children have opportunities to be active and develop their physical skills. The childminder reminds children how to keep safe as they explore the outdoor environment. Consequently, children gain an understanding of how to manage risks.

provision is good
The childminder has a good understanding and knowledge about how to meet and review the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage. Since the last inspection, the childminder has successfully updated safeguarding policies and procedures. She has a strong knowledge of the procedures to follow should she have concerns about a child in her care. The childminder is committed to improving outcomes for children. She has developed her methods to assess children's progress and identify their next steps in learning. Consequently, children are achieving the typical range of development expected for their age and any gaps in children's learning are quickly identified. The childminder has established good partnerships with parents. There is an effective flow of communication, enabling them to share purposeful information regarding children's achievements and care needs. As a result, children's individual needs are met.
