This provision is good
The quality of teaching is good. The childminder uses a range of teaching strategies gained from attending communication and literacy training to ensure children make good progress in their language and literacy skills. Children engage in a range of interesting activities, which meet their individual needs, interests and contribute towards their continued good progress. The childminder establishes close and respectful relationships with children. She supports their social, emotional and physical needs well. As a result, children are confident, self-motivated and prepared well for the next stage in their learning. The childminder has a clear understanding of her role and responsibilities in meeting the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage. This includes effectively maintaining the safety of all children who attend. Established partnership working with parents and other settings that children attend

Inspection activities
The inspector observed the quality of teaching and the impact this has on children's learning. The inspector completed a joint observation with the childminder. The inspector looked at relevant documentation, including children's records and assessment documents and the childminder's policies and procedures. The inspector took account of the views of parents, as recorded in written reference documents.

who attend. This is good
The childminder covers all areas of learning in interesting ways through well-planned activities. She provides a running commentary and introduces new language to younger children who respond by copying and repeating words. As a result, children develop a growing confidence in their communication skills and make good progress towards the early learning goals. The childminder understands how to adapt activities to meet the needs and interests of children of all ages. She provides experiences that she knows children will be interested in and re-shapes tasks as they occur. She gives clear guidance to children and helps them learn how to tackle new things. However, occasionally the childminder distracts children as they play and explore in their own way. Therefore, children sometimes lose interest and their learning is interrupted. The indoor environment is planned, so that children can access a wide range of resources independently, which

promotes their active learning. However, the childminder has not yet developed the garden for children use to its full potential. She has a good knowledge about the importance of outdoor learning and is keen to provide a greater range of resources and experiences, so that children can develop their learning more effectively.

good
Children are confident and thoroughly enjoy their time with the childminder. Care practices promote children's well-being effectively. Children are supported to develop a growing understanding of how to keep themselves safe and healthy. They follow effective hygiene routines and are offered gentle reminders about behavioural expectations. Consequently, children begin to learn what is expected of them and they behave very well. This equips them well with the independence and social skills they need when they start nursery or school. The childminder is a good role model and provides children with choices throughout the day. As a result, children feel a sense of belonging and valued. Children enjoy daily outings to local parks where they have opportunities to practise their physical skills using the large play equipment. They are kept safe from harm because the childminder understands how to manage risks and keep them safe.
p.3
provision is good
The childminder has a secure understanding of safeguarding procedures to ensure children's welfare and safety. She values the views of all parents and children. She includes their views to inform her development plans to improve the quality in all areas of practice. Daily discussions with parents means that the childminder gains a good knowledge and understanding of children's interests and skills. She uses her good knowledge of children well to plan an environment that is tailored to meet the needs of all of them. Comprehensive assessment documents are used to track children's progress and identify any gaps in their learning, so that early intervention can be sought.
