The childminder has the highest expectations of children. She focuses on developing children's communication and language. The childminder uses various teaching methods successfully, including asking skilled questions so that children learn to express themselves well. Children learn about early mathematics and develop their physical skills competently as they play, for example, with dough. The childminder provides different tools for children to develop their coordination, including cutting and rolling. She asks questions about their creations and children tell her about the shapes they make. They count the dough balls. The childminder makes sure all children can take part in the activities. For example, when reading a story she helps each child identify the different characters in the story. Children make signs or use words to join in, so no one is excluded.
