This inspection: Not met

Previous inspection: Not applicable The setting does not meet legal requirements for early years settings

p.1

The provision does not meet requirements

 The childminder has a suitable understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures to keep children safe. However, she does not have a written statement for the protection of children to meet the requirements of the Childcare Register.  The childminder does not have a written statement of procedures for complaints to share with parents. This breaches a requirement of the Childcare Register.  The childminder has a clear understanding of the learning and development requirements, to help ensure children make good progress from when they first start at the setting.  The childminder understands the importance of working in partnership with parents and adults at other early years settings, to meet the needs of all children.  The childminder has appropriate arrangements to encourage and promote children's health and well-being. She understands how to help them become emotionally prepared for their future learning, such as at school.

p.1

The provision does not meet requirements

 The childminder carries out risk assessments to reduce hazards to children's safety. However, she does not hold a valid or relevant first-aid qualification to keep children safe in an emergency, which is also a requirement of the Childcare Register.  The childminder has arrangements to reflect on and evaluate her practice in order to make continuous improvements. However, this is not very effective, as it does not help her to identify all areas of weaknesses and the actions needed to address them.

p.1

The provision does not meet requirements

There were no children present when this inspection took place. The findings in this report are based on evidence gathered from discussions with those who care for the children and an inspection of the premises, equipment and relevant documentation. Where there are no children present, no judgement is made on the quality of the early years provision as there is no reliable evidence on which to assess its impact on children. The report states whether the provider continues to meet the requirements of registration.
