who attend. This is outstanding

The childminder and her assistant have very high expectations of children in their care. They are highly attuned to children's interests and next steps. This means that children are extremely well motivated and engaged in their learning. The childminder and her assistant provide the right amount of language to support and develop communication and imagination, whilst providing enough time for children to respond and develop these skills for themselves. Children confidently invite others into their play and display exceptional imagination and communication skills, even from a young age. Children are prepared for the next stage in their learning. This is because the childminder and her assistant support children to gain a range of skills in preparation for school. They liaise closely with other providers children attend. They share information and assessments of children's progress. This means that there is a consistent approach to children's care and learning. However,

Exceptional arrangements support children's well-being. Children are helped to settle quickly and the childminder and her assistant recognise when and why children may be unsettled. This allows them to tailor their environment and support children to freely explore their surroundings. The childminder provides carefully planned and well-resourced environments, both indoors and outside. As a result, children are motivated in their learning, developing a range of skills. Children are supported to take and manage their own risks. They lift large tree stumps into place and make their own cafe, serving drinks. Later, they explore large guttering pipes, going over and under and negotiating space. Children are encouraged to develop healthy lifestyles. This is achieved through sensitive conversations and positive role modelling from the childminder and her assistant.

provision is outstanding

The childminder has exceptional knowledge and understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage. She has robust procedures in place for the recruitment and induction of new assistants. This ensures that children are kept safe at all times and benefit from consistently high-quality teaching. Self-evaluation is robust and demonstrates an excellent commitment and drive to improve. This is further complimented by the childminder's reflective approach to childcare. This ensures that the service on offer continually improves to meet the needs of all children who attend. Targeted training in equality and diversity ensures a fully inclusive environment for all children. The childminder knows how to support children who speak English as an additional language. This ensures such children make exceptional progress. The childminder has positive links with other childminders. She uses these to get ideas about how to further develop her practice.
