knows to gain information on children's abilities to promote continuity of care and learning, and to help prepare children for their next stage in learning. The indoor and outdoor play environments are clean and bright. The childminder presents a wide range of resources that are stimulating and interesting to enable children to make decisions. The childminder has effective settling-in procedures which enable her to get to know children before they start. She fully understands how to support children to gain a good awareness of rules and boundaries, promoting their good behaviour. The childminder has all the required documents in place. She is organised, reviews policies and shares these with parents. This was a recommendation from her last inspection. This shows her ability to review the quality of the provision and make improvements.
p.1
The provision meets requirements
There were no children present when this inspection took place. The findings in this report are based on evidence gathered from discussions with those who care for the children and an inspection of the premises, equipment and relevant documentation. Where there are no children present, no judgement is made on the quality of the early years provision as there is no reliable evidence on which to assess its impact on children. The report states whether the provider continues to meet the requirements of registration.
p.1
Inspection activities
The inspector discussed with the childminder how she delivers the educational programmes for children, and how she undertakes observation, assessment and planning. The inspector had a tour of the areas used for childminding, including the lounge, conservatory, kitchen, upstairs toilet and she viewed the rear garden. The inspector checked evidence of the childminder's qualifications and training certificates, including evidence of the childminder's suitability and the suitability of all people living on the premises. The inspector looked at the childminder's self-evaluation form and feedback collected from children and their parents, and from children's teachers. The inspector looked at a selection of risk assessments and policy documents, including the safeguarding policy and procedures.
