who attend. This is outstanding
Children are ready to play and learn in a relaxed and comfortable child-friendly home. The childminder plans fun and exciting activities with ideas and input from the children. She is highly skilled and ensures learning opportunities are firmly rooted within play. For example, the childminder introduces toy trains displaying the letters of the children's names, so together they can talk about the different letters. Children identify the letters of their name with enthusiasm. This prepares them well for their next stage in learning and for school. The childminder uses a wide range of highly stimulating resources to provide opportunities for children to explore across all areas of learning. However, there are fewer opportunities for them to explore a range of modern technology to develop their skills further.

outstanding
Children are exceptionally well behaved and thoughtful. They comfort one another if someone becomes upset. The childminder is an exemplary role model and talks to them with great care and compassion. Therefore, children talk kindly to each other and with very good manners. Consequently, they are learning skills to help manage their own behaviour in larger groups, such as at nursery. The childminder listens to the children's ideas, including the resources they suggest to use for the day. As a result, children feel highly valued and are confident to express their ideas. Children have an excellent understanding of health and safety practices, such as what food is healthy and know to wash their hands before eating. Children manage their own safety exceptionally well for their age. For example, they negotiate stairs with confidence, walking sensibly and holding the rail without needing to be reminded.

She provides guidance and ongoing support for her assistant to ensure he understands his role fully. She has a clear understanding of the importance of working with other professionals. The childminder continues to be reflective, which ensures the ongoing development of a highly stimulating environment for children.
